The third season will premiere October 27 on ‪HBO Max. According to The Hollywood Reporter, this will be the show's final season.

Quoting this Jezebel article: Somebody Somewhere is set in the rural town of Manhattan, Kansas, and follows Sam (Bridget Everett), a 40-something who’s struggling to find a sense of purpose in her hometown while mourning her sister’s death. And while the show is about feeling lost, Sam finds her chosen family in a crew of local misfits, many of whom are queer.

“I’m so happy finally to be able to finish the story Terry and I plotted in 1989 and in 2006,” Gaiman said in a statement accompanying Amazon’s Good Omens Season 3 renewal announcement Thursday. “Terry was determined that if we made Good Omens for television, we could take the story all the way to the end.”

Leverage: Redemption is coming back for season 3! And this time on Amazon Prime!! We’re so excited to be back to work in the Leverage Universe!! from Dean Devlin's twitter. Dean had been hinting news was coming soon, so I was keeping an eye out for just this!

Also, if you hadn't heard, a new Librarians TV show is coming with a mostly new cast. He managed to sell a show in the thick of the writer's strike, which is impressive.

If you'd like to follow news about the show and the cast, I run [community profile] leverageinternational. With the changing winds of social media, and also a recent account hack, I maintain a number of resources and links off of the profile page including confirmed accounts of actors, writers, cast, crew, etc. The loss of twitter verification was... a mess for people like me.

Inspired by yesterday's Speak Up Saturday question: Here's a Vulture list of all the shows that, so far, have been canceled in 2023. Which cancellation has hit you the hardest? Or maybe there are potential future cancellations that you're quietly dreading?

Shows I'm mourning: Dead End: Paranormal Park and the planned Six of Crows spinoff. I'm also a little worried over Good Omens because it's Jeff Bezos and I need a third TV season, not a novel or a comic.

Do you have any shows that aren't sure if they are going to make it to screen? Pining for announced shows that never happened?

Here are a few of mine:

* Sanctuary Reboot - This was announced just before Covid. I assume that torpedoed it. For those who don't know it was an very early streaming show that was a bit too early to the streaming market. It was an urban fantasy show with Amanda Tapping and a few writers from SG-1. I don't know the full behind the scenes on it, but I do know that the original first season was unavailable for a long time even when the later season where available. It was a very experimental show and I was very into it. I was hyped by the renewal announcement but then... nothing. I hold out hope that the stars align and it still happens.

* Heralds of Valdemar adaptation - I will bet my spleen this never happens, but please, I would love it if it did. Every bit of dudebro nerd nostalgia has been made into moves or shows, but never weird stuff about talking horses and soul bonds from female fantasy authors.

* I can't remember the title - But I remember that there was going to be a show about the people psychiatrists who get homosexuality removed as a disorder from the DSM-IV. I think it was going to be the next project from some of the people who made Pose. I don't know what happened to it and can't find the articles I remember reading.

* Crystal Lake - There is no good reason right now to worry that it's vaporware, but I am keeping a weather eye on it and hoping. There have been rights issues to the Friday the 13th movie series it's a prequel to, but it sounds like it's moving forward?

So, anyone else? Have any shows in development hell they are pulling for? Still sad about Wayward Sisters?

Fox, proving once again that they are completely out of touch, has cancelled yet another beloved series. Lucifer, which is averaging about 3.297 million viewers, has just been cancelled. Meanwhile, Family Guy and Bob's Burgers, who are averaging 2.552 and 2.369 million viewers, respectively, have both been renewed by the network.

There's been a lot of outrage on Twitter since the news broke, with fans and celebs alike lamenting the show's cancellation. #Brooklyn99 has been a trending topic for the past few hours since news of the cancellation was revealed. What do you think of Brooklyn Nine Nine being cancelled? Do you think the public outcry can get Fox to change their minds? Or will Netflix or Hulu swoop in and cash in on Fox's mistakes?

The season finale, now the series finale, is scheduled to air May 20th.
