Oh! I love lists like these, I love how many shows there are there that I have never even heard of, happily getting renewed for like their sixth season somehow.

The only show I really cared about getting renewed this year was MacGyver, which is a sorry state of affairs because oh my god it's not even that good, but i love it, and it's the only glimpse of slash I see any more and I'm so happy we'll get more of it.

I'm also really happy about Timeless, I was upset when they cancelled it instead of just making it better. I hope they make it better.

The Good Place I'm relieved about, I thought that was something they might just cancel without thinking about it and I love it and although I suppose it will have to change next season I think they'll keep it being great.

I'm a bit sad that Scandal will end next year, I know that's a stupid attitude considering it is a mess now and mostly just makes no sense and is infuriating, but I would have been happy if it had just carried right on being a mess for the rest of my life somehow, I don't even know why.

I agreed, I'm happy that these people are toddling along with a steady job, even though I have never and probably will never watch most of these shows. I also hadn't realized just how many networks and "networks" there are out there, putting out original programming.

I'm mostly happy for them, but then I often wonder why I've not seen an actor for a while and when I look them up it's because they're in season 5 of some police procedural I've never heard of, and it's half 'good for them' and half 'nooooooo, make them be in something I actually want to watch'.

Oh, I forgot about The Good Place. I'm a real hard sell for comedy series, as I don't find most of them all that funny (usually because they rely heavily on embarrassment) but I loved this. I can't wait to see where they go with it next season because I didn't see that season ending coming.

I loved how it kept moving and didn't get bored, and everyone felt so right for their character in it, I was properly impressed.

I think the reveal at the end of The Good Place is what really cemented it's renewal. I had been telling a friend who didn't mind spoilers and rarely watches TV about it and when I told her about the plot twist, it actually incited her to watch even more, which I think is the case for a number of people.

I was so happy to hear about Timeless! Somehow it's cancellation had slipped by me so I spent only a day being sad about it and then the very next day the news that it had been renewed broke. I was so happy!

So many shows I have never, ever heard of....

Lists like this make me realize how many shows I've given up on at various times. Congrats to the cast and crew for their success, but I don't have any desire to pick you back up.

I am pretty happy Timeless was uncancelled though. I hope that the 10 ep guarantee will give them the motivation for telling a more cohesive, tighter story.

And I'm thrilled Lethal Weapon got renewed for a full season. There were some great twists last season and I really appreciated how when they updated it they switched things around to add POC and LGBTQ characters (how rare is it to have a network show with only 1 straight white guy?)

Yes yes this. I think it would be so easy to lift Timeless into something so much better than it currently is. And they left it in a good place to do that, so I'm kind of hopeful.

I'm so happy about Timeless. There were so many things left unanswered at the end of the season.

Tbh I didn't have much of an interest in Lethal Weapon but I've seen a lot of people praise it and I'm always here for shows with more representation so I think I'm gonna have to add this to my list! And I used to love Damon Wayans in My Wife and Kids so.

Another show that's been renewed that I'm thrilled about is Frontier (Discovery Canada). Also the Canadian police show 19-2 has been renewed for a 4th season. \o/

I'm both surprised & delighted to see The Exorcist has been renewed! I hope S2 will continue the awesome slashiness between the 2 male leads.... :)

Other shows I'm especially happy to see on this list are Call the Midwife (multiple years renewal!); The Expanse & Dark Matter for my SF needs; Z Nation & Walking Dead for my zombie needs.

Also pleased about Poldark, Grace & Frankie & Deutschland 83. And a few others I watch more casually, but am still glad they'll be back.

lol that's the main reason I'm glad The Exorcist got renewed.

I have not seen the exorcist, but claims of slashiness are basically all it takes to make me check a show out at the moment, so I will be doing that come the weekend:)

(I love that they've renewed Call the Midwife for so many years too! I bet they wish they'd started out just a few years further back in time, though.)

I've only a seen a few episodes of Dark Matter, The Expanse, and Z nation but I enjoyed all of them and am glad they're renewed. It gives me motivation to finally catch up with them!

I was worried the latest season of Grace and Frankie would be the last but I was so pleasantly surprised that it had already been renewed for S4 before I'd even finished S3! Such a good show, I wish more people watched it.

Yay for Blue Bloods and X-Files!!!

There are other shows on here that I watch but these are the two I need to jump up and down for.

I'm guilty of not consistently watching Blue Bloods but I really love it and am glad it's getting another season!

And I'm always here for more X Files.

This year I started a rewatch of Blue Bloods from the beginning because there were big chunks that I missed. It's so fun to see them all so young and baby faced in season 1 while watching the current episodes. The kids grew up!!

Pretty happy with most shows being renewed - yay!

A bit surprised at Once Upon A Time being picked up again for a seventh season considering how the season 6 ended.

Would be interesting to see how they would do it!

I stopped watching OUAT after the first couple of season but after hearing of all the cast that's leaving the show I'm really intrigued to see what they do with the final season!

Oh just read some articles on Season 7 and it seems that quite a lot of the regular cast won't be coming back, so like you, it will be interesting to see how they will do it this time! :-D

I was absolutely delighted when both Elementary and Brooklyn Nine Nine got picked up for another season - I couldn't believe either of them were at risk while things like Supernatural trundle on into infinity but apparently it was the case.

Also happy to see Turn and The Americans get to finish off their respective storylines properly.

I was exactly the same way re: B99. B99 has such a large online fanbase that I was shocked it still hadn't been renewed a few weeks ago. I know Elementary's online fanbase has declined a bit since the first season, at least from my perspective, but I thought that it still had a pretty decent audience so I was surprised to see it potentially on the cut too. I'm so glad both shows are getting another season!

I've only watched a few eps of the 1st season of The Americans but I loved it and am planning to continue on with it so I'm really happy it'll get a proper ending and it won't be one of those shows where you're left hanging.

I think the first season of The Americans is good but it gets even better as it goes on and we start to really get into the backstory and mindset of a variety of characters, not to mention a myriad of tough decisions they face. Also some great performances from supporting roles, like Margo Martindale.

Yay for renewals!

I was surprised to see Grey's renewed too. I used to love it but quit after season 8 or 9, though I'll watch an ep here or there if there's nothing else on. I think a lot of people still watch it out of habit tbh. I know some of my family members do, lol.

I'm very happy that Madame Secretary was renewed. Especially given the current political situation in my country, it's a welcome relief to watch an executive branch of government--of Republicans, yet--that is staffed by competent, ethical, patriotic professionals. I also love watching Tea Leoni.

I'm looking forward to another season of Elementary. I wasn't as in love with the second season of The Expanse as I was with the first, but I'm committed to watching the third season. I was worried that The Good Place wouldn't get renewed--I thought it was funny and surprisingly profound, so that's a good thing. I'm watching Brooklyn 9-9 through the library and I'm happy that there will be more episodes to request. Someday I will get through the early episodes. I just got Top of the Lake season one from the library so if we like it...

I have to get back to the The Rachel Maddow Show. There is more breaking news omigod.

I haven't watched all of Madam Secretary, I tend to just catch episodes here and there, but it's a really good show and I'm glad to see it's renewed! I never seem to hear much about it, at least not in online circles. Tea Leoni is great.

I'm really looking forward to another season of Elementary. I'm eager to see what they do with S2 of The Good Place and B99 has made it's place as one of my all time favorite comedies so I'm really glad we're getting more.
