We generally work off of a set list, though it's added to periodically, and I've added it to it when I've heard of new shows. In reality there's a lot of shows we don't list. Obviously we list all the shows we have homebases for.

I have no idea how the list was first formed in the beginning since it predates me as co-mod. I'm thinking we should probably have a post asking what other shows people would like to see listed soon. Listing every show that is on would probably make these posts very long. Well, until summer anyways.

I'll add these to the list though.

Well, sometimes I only do one day of "coming soon" but this week Tuesday and Wednesday are sparse so I added both. The thing is, this isn't a completely uniform thing. I'm not the only one doing round up posts.

Technically my days are Thur-Sunday. Though this past week I did all but Monday's. There are three co-mods, though only two of us are doing the Round Ups at the moment.

I'm guessing there was a post earlier in the Fall asking about interest in shows and what not but that was before my time here.

My suggestion was not meant for you personally; you just happened to mention keeping length of lists in mind, so I thought of that suggestion for the comm generally.

I can't remember how things were set up initially (the format changed for sure), but of course new shows emerge and there are more Spring and Summer shows than ever.

yeah, now that the tv schedule is slowing down, we should probably put it out there: what do we watch, what do we ignore? for sure I know, as a co-mod, I was just sprinkling what I liked into the list, in the vain hopes that others would get excited, too! There are like 85 shows we track right now, minimum.

I must say it makes sense to me to list show premieres and finales even if they're homebaseless; otherwise, yeah, long list. And I say this as most shows I watch don't have a homebase. :)

That's a good idea: listing shows without homebases on their premiere and finale dates (maybe including after hiatus "premieres"?). Otherwise, they needn't be listed.

Personally I like having shows I watch listed that don't have homebases more than on premiere and finale dates because it acts as a good reminder. I don't have cable and get my shows through...other means. Of course I do keep these on my calender, but I like them on the list and it reminds people about potentially cool shows that don't have homebases, so maybe hopefully maybe someone will volunteer to run one for the show.

At least that's my thinking. But that's me personally.

I'll think about putting up a poll later in the week I guess. But the thing is just because I change my way of doing the round up post doesn't mean another mod will...we each do our own thing really, though generally follow a basic template.

BTW if somebody wants a more comprehensive list (less detailed, though): Metacritic's pretty nice.

Thanks for the list. TV Line's Renewal Scorecard is my favorite. I linked it earlier in the season, so I didn't bother adding it again today. They also have one for Cable TV shows.

Between the success of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the fact that TPTB are preparing for The Avengers 2: The Age of Ultron, I'd be really, really surprised to see Shield getting cancelled.

At least for one more season.

Nope. I couldn't get over my general dislike for pretty much everything (about the show) in the first three eps. BUT it's pretty inevitable not to see people commenting about it here and there.

I understand that the show got better from episode 9 onwards. Still, that's not enough for me to go back and give it another try. *hands*

Same. I was starting to like Skye in ep 3 (as far as I got, too) though I understand she gets a lot of hate.... I pretty much hated everything/one else (SHIELD in particular, which makes me liking a show about them... unlikely).. Miz & Hazel seem to love it though. But they love Coulson, so.

+1 to all this. In all truth, I already have more than enough shows to watch and I don't like to hate!watch so I let Shield be.

Well except this is a very different universe, rhythm and feel than the ones in the movies and a lot of people were disappointed. This and quite a lot of mixed reviews meant ratings kept going down (and it's lost about half of its viewers in ten episodes). Although things are a little less worse recently --which is why a second season is now much more likely than it used to be-- it hasn't recovered from that so far.
At this point I think what matters is how solid the last arc of the season is and whether AMC wants to give the show a second chance (and whether they have another decent show to replace it).

Agreed. That said, my comment was based on marketing. From what I understand, Shield is considered by TPTB as a tool to keep enthusiasm for The Avengers movie!verse strong. The show is set in that 'verse (there have even been small cameos from the movies). AFAIK, there aren't any movies set to premiere after Captain America: The Winter Soldier and before Avengers 2. Therefore, Shield is supposed to be the connecting thread between those two movies.

I have heard about the low ratings as well as the disappointed grumbles from some corners of the fandom. But I don't think that the network would invest so much money promoting Shield only to cancel it. I'm thinking it will get one more season with a shorter episode order.

Huh, happy to see that (EW thinks anyway) that fox is leaning toward renewing Almost Human! Very surprised that this has been Castle's best year though. It's been entertaining but not like, quality or anything. So bummed that it isn't looking good for Believe but not surprised, at all. It's very formulaic and way too adorable for its genre. BUT I STILL LOVE IT, OKAY????

In lonely Canadian news, I'm wondering if Remedy will continue.
