4.01 Old Dogs, New Tricks
Josh is a werewolf and Nora isn't...except when she is and he isn't. Oh, the conundrum! Aidan's trying to help them both and work out the rest of his life as well (including seeing his dead wife everywhere). And Sally's kicking it up at the spa.
By the way, Sam Huntington picked up a nomination for best actor in a drama series for the Canadian Screen Awards. Yay for him! Sadly, Being Human was otherwise ignored.
Re: 4.01 Old Dogs, New Tricks
So it's three months after the season three finale. Poor Josh and Nora! I wonder how long it took Nora and Aidan to work out this system. That calendar...Josh seeing both how hard things were for them, and all the regular stuff he's missing. It'll be interesting to see how they get him back, and how long it takes.
Sally, on the other hand, got back fairly quickly. Which has to be trouble.
And we got confirmation about the identity of "Diana." And how she came to be there. Still waiting to find out why she hasn't shown up until now. But it does hold to the pattern of identical fates befalling both of Aidan's love interests each season.

4.02 That Time of the Month
And it turns out it really is Susanna! And she has a really awful, tragic reason for avoiding her husband for two hundred years. This just can't end well.
Josh...well, that'll probably end well, but it looks like they're going to go through a lot of grief first.
What did you think?
Re: 4.02 That Time of the Month
Sally is being a little scary. And very reckless. Apparently Donna was right? It's great to have Josh back, but I don't get why she didn't run through the whole spell with Aidan and Nora first. Okay, limited time, fine, but still. Clearly they're all going to pay for it now. Which is pretty much the theme of the show.
Is it just me, or is Aidan talking really loudly this season. Like, a lot?
I think I'm basically going to end up spending the whole season in a state of serious anxiety.

Re: 4.02 That Time of the Month
Re: 4.02 That Time of the Month
Random, but: I kind of wish vampires couldn't walk in the sun in this universe. It feels like cheating.
Random 2: Do you think "that time of the month" lines up with, you know, "that time of the month" for lady werewolves? Gosh, I hope so. Otherwise, most of your month would be fucked. [ETA: AND OH LOOK AT THAT they referenced the menstrual cycle! ahahah welp I guess that answers that question. Thank goodness. Goddess blood snorfle.]
PELLEGRINO IN THE HOUSSSSEEEE I love that guy. I hope we find out A) Why he turned her and B) what she's been up to this whole time. Or wait, did Aiden accidentally turn her, and not realize? I'm so confused.
Whoa HOLY SHIT what is Susanna doing to herself?? OH MY FUCKING GOD I did not see that coming. That's brutal and dark. She killed her own kid. Damn that sucks. No wonder she's a little crazy. Need to know MORE!!
I kind of love Sally's whole out-of-phase with dimensions and time thing. I mean, obviously this can go nowhere good, but it's the sort of ~spooky that's really satisfying. Plus surprise!time travel is just awesome.
OMG THE WOLF JUST GAVE BIRTH TO JOSH WHAT that was pretty cool, in a gross kind of way. Uh oh, but he came back wrong?

Re: 4.03 Lil' Smokie
I love how self-aware everyone is, even though they keep making bad choices. They voice the easy option, and then everything gets worse. I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH. It keeps me guessing.
Re: 4.03 Lil' Smokie
Re: 4.03 Lil' Smokie
Also so glad Josh confided in Nora; I always get so frustrated when supposedly close couples just keep important info from each other!

4.04 Panic Womb
Re: 4.04 Panic Womb
It seems like a reasonable compromise between Suzanna's warning and what he wants. Although presumably he's had this conversation/experience before, with Celene?
Sally and Zoe playing odd-couple PI was adorable and they deserve their own show.
Aidan and Nora hanging out and Nora being the one to understand about Kenny was awesome.
I'm feeling a little bad for Sam Huntington, having to do that constant working out. All that running!
Re: 4.04 Panic Womb
Re: 4.04 Panic Womb
Vampires
Is Susannah wrong, though? if mortal life is something to be valued and 'normality' something to be treasured, there's no real happy ending to Aidan's relationship with...what's her name.
It's interesting, at the top of the ep, I was wondering why Aidan was lying to everyone and trying to keep everything compartmentalized, and then by the end, everyone knew everything. Awesome! It's obviously theme of the season: full and complete disclosure and genuine attempts at communication still can result in failure. hm!
Werewolves
I'm enjoying Josh being all aggro, particularly because he's usually the more cerebral, less connected-to-his-physicality one of the group.
Pregnant wolf! New characters! Do you think the baby could also hear the ultrasound? A bunch of people all got turned at once and IMPREGNATED? aha! Is there a conspiracy to swell the ranks, now that vampires are nearly extinct?
OH my GOD I can't believe that birth went off ok and that they SHOWED it as a mini-wolf. What! It just happened to make conflict for Nora and Josh though, huh? Nice psych-out there. I totally expected it to be more heartachey. I think, actually, that's the theme of the season: we've been brutalized by three seasons of heartbreak on this show, and so now we flinch but secretly they're pulling the obvious punches. I can't believe it, but this is a show where season four is fresh and keeps us guessing. Very few shows can pull that off!
Ghosts
Same thing here: Beatrice gets more mysterious! The 'Beatrice Jr' is...who? The family ghost? Can't wait to find out.
It was good to see Zoe again. Aw is she bi, though?? That would be very exciting! ahahahah 'Sally' is a verb! That's perfect, if a little harsh. Part of me is still waiting for Donna to pull the rug out from under her. But maybe not. Maybe she really did consume Donna?
Either way, this was another fantastic episode. THIS SHOW <3

4.05 Pack It Up, Pack It In
Re: 4.05 Pack It Up, Pack It In
I felt for Aidan, but really, Kat's making a good decision here. As Suzanna said last week, relationships with vampires rarely end well.
Anyone else think Kenny's new girlfriend has ulterior motives? I'm seeing a possible resurgence in the vampire-werewolf war here.
There seems to be an ongoing theme this season with Sally needing to learn to be more careful with her powers. Aidan's been hammering that home, Zoe really told her last week, and this week was Josh's turn. Although after what happened with Emily, it's hard to blame him. On the other hand, finally having a way to interact with the world has to be so satisfying for Sally.

4.06 Cheater of the Pack
Re: 4.06 Cheater of the Pack
Oh, Aidan. You were doing so well, but honestly, I'm not sure Suzanna would be wrong to kill you.
And my heart pretty much just aches for Josh and Nora.
4.07 Gallows Humor
So basically, Being Human continues to hate happiness.
Discuss here!
Re: 4.07 Gallows Humor
It seemed like Donna did something to Sally's brother because he just sort of disappeared with no explanation. Also Josh mentioned something like there was no way Robbie could have been electrocuted, so it seems like maybe Donna even had something to do with his death? I dunno though, I might have misinterpreted stuff.
I did like the scene where Susanna finally confesses what she did to Aiden after all of what he said. I'm liking Susanna more and more for some reason.
So disappointed this is going to be the last season, but it seems like they knew it was so hopefully they will be able to wrap it up well.

4.08 Rewind, Rewind...
So which version of the story do you prefer?
Re: 4.08 Rewind, Rewind...
It was everything I wanted from an AU version where Sally lives. Excluding, of course, it all falling apart in the end. BUT we got CANNON Aidan/Sally!!! I'm more excited about that than I probably should be because it was just in the AU and there's no guarantee they'll follow it up in the real timeline...but I don't care because I LOVED it! NGL, Sally/Aidan has always been my OTP (even back in season 1 when I didn't care for the show that much) and I never actually thought we'd get there. So even if it's only for this one episode, I will embrace the HELL out of this.
Um, what else? OH, Sally being a werewolf! I wish we'd seen more of it, but I get that they had a limited time to do everything in. I loved seeing so many past characters come back into the mix and seeing how different their lives were with Sally going around changing everything.
And speaking of Sally changing things, I hope this little AU thing helps her realize that she needs to stop reacting so impulsively to these things. Sally almost always has good intentions but she's not very good at thinking about the consequences of her actions and it leads to stuff like this. Where no matter how well things are going at first, it all turns to crap by the end.
But yeah...one of my favorite episodes OF THE SERIES!

4.09 Too Far, Fast Forward
Re: 4.09 Too Far, Fast Forward
Interesting to see that Aidan was just biding his time, waiting to kill Bishop, even in the version in which he returns to Bishop. Also nice to see them go all the way through to season three.
Poor Nora! I really hope she gets a better ending in the restored timeline.
Of course, the big question is Sally's trip to the future. What happened???

4.10 Oh, Don't You Die For Me
Aidan is finally forced to choose between his wife and his new son. He goes with the person he promised to protect, rather than the one he promised to honour and cherish.
And Sally decides that as much as that other life sucked, there was one part worth reviving, and borrows a body to kiss Aidan.
Re: 4.10 Oh, Don't You Die For Me
The fight scene where they rescued Josh was awesome, though. And who expected those werewolves to be the big bad of the season?
Kenny vs. Suzanna. Did Aidan make the right choice? This is one of those situations where I feel like objectively, Suzanna has a point about the larger role of vampires, but OTOH, we haven't actually seen Kenny kill anyone, so demanding that he die seemed a little unfair. And using Kenny was a way to punish Aidan was definitely unfair. So I'm going to go with yes, he made the right choice. And possibly the more merciful choice where Suzanna was concerned.
Now I'm wondering if they're setting it up so Aidan and Sally can either "die" together, or Aidan and die and the two of them can move on together. (Yes, vampires don't get doors. Or ghosts. But hey, Sally has magic and Aidan is the exception to a lot of things.)

4.11 Ramona the Pest
Plus, FINALLY, one brief, shining moment of happiness as Josh finally gets the wolf under control...right before Aidan's lie to Kenny falls apart, setting up all sorts of conflict for next week.
Re: 4.11 Ramona the Pest
AND we finally know who Lil' Smokey is! Now we just have to find out who killed her and why.
Poor Aidan, always getting woken up at the most embarrassing possible moment during his dreams. Plus apparently it wasn't enough that he had to choose between Suzanna and Kenny. Now it looks like he's going to have to choose between Josh and Kenny. And I'm not sure Kenny's going to come out on top this time.
Also, the house is still sold! I can't blame Sally's father, but it does seem sketchy that they don't get more formal warning. It does make me wonder about the title of the finale. New house, new neighbourhood, start again?
Re: 4.11 Ramona the Pest
Re: 4.11 Ramona the Pest
4.12 House Hunting
Does she succeed? Maybe, if Sally's vision meant anything. Stay tuned for next week!
Oh, and THEY KILLED KENNY!
Re: 4.12 House Hunting
Interesting choices for who was going to haunt each of them, but I suppose the house was limited to people who had been inside. So Henry, not Suren, and Kat rather than Celene.
And...it looks like they're going their separate ways. Josh and Nora moving into their own place, Aidan inviting Sally to haunt him in Pete's RV. But given the title of the last episode...is this experience going to prompt them to reset back to the beginning? And is that even a good thing--trying again--or is it a sad sign of lack of progress? I can't decide what I want.
4.13 Welcome to the Neighbourhood Pt. III
What'd you think? Good ending to the show?
Re: 4.13 Welcome to the Neighbourhood Pt. III
This wasn't totally surprising as an ending - they've been indicating all season that Aidan and Sally were both too dangerous to be allowed to live. And Sam Witwer once said he thought Aidan should die defending Josh and Nora (well, and Sally). So he got what he wanted, and Aidan and Sally got to be together.
I think my favourite part was seeing the connection between Aidan and Nora, both after they escaped the house and when they realized Aidan was dying. And the door scene was lovely too.
Also, great cameo from
