The 2014 Winter Olympics are now going on and should run through February 23rd.
They are airing on NBC so if you haven't noticed already the TV schedule is a little messed up lately and will be until after that date. Even some shows that don't air on NBC are taking breaks so as not to have to compete with the Olympics for ratings.
Because of this, I thought a little completely optional poll could be fun...

I'm somewhere in between: I don't hate that it's interfering, but I am aware and do care. It's a mild annoyance. Some of my shows are still on.

I think I tend to overstate things. If I don't like something I must hate it ;)

I was thinking of this, and the reason I made the poll is that this coming Wednesday the shows we usually list for these round ups...there's nothing for Wednesday itself, at least not that I could tell. Though I don't do Wednesday posts, I do the Thursday ones and Thursday is looking pretty thin too. So those round up posts are going to be a little lacking I think.

I'd rather have scripted TV than the Olympics, but as eevilalice said, it's more of an annoyance than a big deal. Plus my current two favourite shows are still airing, so I can't complain too much.

My current favorite show has been on break since the middle of December and won't be back until March 9th so the Olympics don't really matter with that but my second favorite show is taking a break for the next two weeks because of the Olympics event though it's not on NBC, so maybe I'm a little cranky about that. But shows take breaks all the time with or without the Olympics I guess. And it isn't as if I'm actually caught up on all the other shows I watch :)

There are shows I'm definitely going to miss, so I understand. Stupid breaks! ;)

I enjoy watching the Olympics in general. I have noticed, though, that the coverage on MSNBC vs NBC seem to repeat portions, even though they are on at differing times-eg. while NBC has Olympics, MSNBC has something else, and vice versa. I'm not sure if I like that because it can cut down on what is shown, but it does help to not miss stuff they do show.

I used to like watching some of the Olympic events. I loved the figure skating and gymnastics mostly. But these days having cable is too far outside my budget, so I'd have to go searching online for these things and I don't really care enough to do so I guess. I'm not sure how I would feel if I still had cable. I'd probably end up watching at least some of the Olympics I think.

It's definitely easier with cable. And ITA about it being a PIA online. Although I haven't checked this year, TBH. (I usually try to go online for the equestrian in the summer olympics, and it's almost impossible).

I wasn't aware some of my shows were on hiatus until now but now that I am I find I don't care that much since some of my favorite ones are still on and episodecalendar.com makes it easy to track stuff (and in my timezone even). Also when there's nothing on TV there's always fic to read! ;)
