Once Upon a Time: Home Base

This is the home base for Once Upon a Time!!!

This wonderful show is currently in its third season.
Season three has been split into two 11 episode mini seasons.
Each with their own story arc.

Part one of season three has already aired.
Part two starts March 9th 2014.
It should air every Sunday for 11 weeks in a row.
Once Upon a Time airs Sundays 8pm EST in the US on ABC

Walsh is the Wizard of Oz!!!! And the first flying monkey :(

I can't handle that. I don't want to feel bad for flying monkey boy. I don't want to feel bad for Zelena! Dammit!!!

We still don't know who Zelena's birth father is, so my theory may still be correct. I can't believe Cora gave up Zelena who ended up being able to do magic.

That's twice Rumple's messed up the chance to get to the world without magic without the curse. The first time was with the bean and Milah and Killian, if only he had taken that deal instead of killing Milah and cutting off Killian's hand.

And the second time with Zelena and the slippers. Dammit, I love Rumple, but what the hell???

Also, Rumple's future sight sucks. Seriously, he didn't know about Zelena, he didn't know that Henry was his grandson. What the hell use is the seer power anyways. It seems to just make you make stupid decisions.

Regina literally giving Robin her heart! That was so beautiful. I feel bad that she's not really letting him in, but honestly this really isn't the time. And seriously this, her trusting her heart to him means so much more right now.

The Captain Cobra (Hook and Henry) bits were sweet and funny. Poor Killian being confused by modern tech. GPS???? Aye?

This episode gave me so many feels and the promo for the next one (Hook-centric) is killing me already.

That revelation about Walsh changed my mind. Go marry him, Emma! It's not his fault he was enslaved by Zelena, you guys can work this out!

I absolutely do want to feel bad for Zelena. It's more fun if I care about every side of the conflict.
I don't remember your theory about Zelena's father, what was it?

Weird, the revelation about Walsh being the Wizard made me dislike his involvement with Emma even more. Even if I didn't ship Captain Swan and Hook wasn't in the picture, I wouldn't like it.

Emma hates people not being who they seem, she hates the idea of false hope and traditionally the Wizard is the epitome of false hope and not being who he seems to be at all. He's all illusions and lies. It seems to be the case here too. I feel bad that Zelena enslaved him but I want him with Emma even less now then when I thought he was a just a random guy enslaved by the Wicked Witch.

Then again, I did just read the first Wizard of Oz book and it's still fresh in my mind. I'm not a fan of the wizard in general, I guess.

They won't make it happen anyways. The actor is a lead in another show so can only do a few episodes of OUaT anyways.

My theory is that Zelena's father is King Leopold...Snow's dad. From before he married Snow's mother. It would have given Cora an added reason to hate and kill Eva (Snow's mother). It would also make the family tree even more twisted. Though it would make it weird that she had Regina marry him later...but she didn't have her heart at that point, so she probably wouldn't have cared.

Ah, I wasn't really serious, about Emma/Walsh. But I'm a fan of the wizard in the book (I love people getting away with pretending to have great innate power instead of really having it), so that makes me like him more, and I am quite happy that this random guy has some backstory. I don't really feel that makes him more false than before, from Emma's POV (in general, sure, but don't see it making much difference for the personal betrayal).

Ooooh, that is one interesting theory. I'm not sure I buy it, but I do hope for Cora having more reason for hating Eva so much, and that would work (her indirectly attacking Snow too, who's utterly innocent, because of Snow getting the things her own daughter couldn't). And well, since Regina isn't his daughter herself, I wouldn't put it past Cora. I do wonder at him agreeing to it though, because he sees himself as a better person than that, I'd say; it might actually be a roundabout way of making it up to Cora from his POV though.

Yeah, I think I see it from Emma's point of view too much. It was her first long-term relationship and it was all lies. And personally I tend to dislike that sort of thing.

Charcter-wise...I'm glad they decided to do more with Walsh than just make him a flying monkey/WWotW minion. It also explains why they kept his identity so under wraps too.

I wonder what he wanted Zelena to get him from Rumple?

We have yet to see what Leopold was like when he was young though, he may not have been as nice. Eva wasn't. She was the one that fussed when Cora spilled the flour on her and wanted her to kneel. It was later that she became a much nicer person it seems. Maybe she learned from her mistakes?

I guess we'll find out eventually though.

Yes, I understand. It was pretty awful; but that's part of why I hope maybe they can make up to some extend? Or at least talk it out and decide they can't...

True...unless she made him forget. By then Cora had her powers. She could have made him forget he ever new her before, let alone was intimate with her.

I do hope they come around to this again. I will say I'm not holding my breathe though, considering Neal never dealt with the fact that he was going to marry Tamara who happened to be a minion of Peter Pan's (without actually realizing that was who she served...but whatever). I mean we got his little quip about it shortly before he died, but that was it.

he went from being engaged, shot by his fiance, going through a portal and then doing everything he could to get back with Emma without ever dealing with or talking about the whole Tamara thing and it drove me crazy.

At least Emma's talked about the Walsh thing a bit more (because Hook made her) than Neal ever talked about Tamara post "break up".

I have no idea how many episodes they got Chris Gorham for though. From what I understand it wasn't a lot. But if it was mostly studio stuff they could have kept it secret, so who knows?

Oh, that is true! I know everybody hated Tamara and Greg, and I'm not a fan either, but since they were already there and were... kind of important to Neal and Regina respectively, and especially the former, I really wanted them to be explored further rather than just killed off and that's it (also because I'm pretty sure Tamara had a reason for hating magic and I'd have liked to find out; but her history with Neal just being brushed aside really makes no sense; and now it's never to be explored).
...dammit, I'd forgotten how annoying this is, now I'm angry about it again.

I felt bad for Greg. I didn't like him but I felt bad for him and he was entirely justified in wanting revenge and wanting to end magic. He was foolish not to care who he was taking orders from, but that's another story.

Tamara I didn't like at all, and I think that was because we were never given a reason to feel bad for her. I would have loved to know why she hated magic. But no, they never went there.

Neal never even asked what happened to her. On Neverland Tink was walking around wearing Tamara's watch that she looted off of her body and Neal never said a thing...or never noticed, or whatever but still. I don't remember him ever asking what happened to her in the end, and he was going to marry her. Even with Emma back in his life, he was still in love with Tamara right up until she shot him.

I kept waiting for it to be addressed, for him to ask about her or at least mention here, but no. He didn't even seem to care about the betrayal after or deal with it. He was just all "Emma, Emma, Henry, Henry..." and that was it.

Yeah. I'm actually still hoping maybe Greg isn't dead, since he was killed the same way Blue was (?), but I'm not holding my breath. 's convenient for everyone's reconciliation with Regina, I suppose?

And, I mean, I always enjoy Gold not having to take responsibility for things (like Regina had a mob at her door at the start of season 2, and all Gold got was Emma yelling at him for a minute; no hard feelings about him trying to kill her and Snow later either, ...), but I'm honestly not sure if him being the one who murders Tamara isn't an issue because he's not going to correct everyone's assumption, it or if the writers just didn't feel it was worth bringing up.

I'm not entirely sure if Neal was truly in love with Tamara (I'd like to think not because it makes his indifference slightly easier to swallow, and wasn't feeling the affection even before), or if she was just there, and he liked her and he really needed someone. Only even if that was the case, she was basically the most important person in his life and someone he'd chosen to spend his life with. Dude.

I believe that he at least thought he was at the time. He whined about how he needed her when he told Emma that he asked Tamara to come to Storybrooke (even though he knew it was a bad idea because...magic!).

He pressured Emma into meeting her because he felt she was going to be a part of their lives because of Henry...so even if he wasn't actually in love with her, I don't think he actually realized that until she shot him. I'd really hope he would at least want a little time to process that whole thing, even if he wasn't truly in love with her, but obviously the writers didn't think so. Or they did and it got cut for time issues, who knows?

I think the writers teased once that Greg could still be alive (like Blue) or at least not to rule it out.
