Once Upon a Time: Home Base

This is the home base for Once Upon a Time!!!

This wonderful show is currently in its third season.
Season three has been split into two 11 episode mini seasons.
Each with their own story arc.

Part one of season three has already aired.
Part two starts March 9th 2014.
It should air every Sunday for 11 weeks in a row.
Once Upon a Time airs Sundays 8pm EST in the US on ABC

SWEET! This looks great!

I was both intrigued and annoyed that literally EVERYONE was someone's dad last season. It gave new definition to keeping it in the family. What did you think of the Peter Pan reveal?

I found it kind of amusing that everyone seemed to be related...or at least related to Henry in some way. His family tree is extremely complicated to say the least.

I wasn't surprised by the Peter Pan reveal. I was predicting it for a while but I was surprised by how he came to be Peter Pan. I thought maybe it would be a result of magic gone wrong. I didn't think it was something it would have chosen. I was happy to be surprised about that.

It makes the whole Peter Pan thing way more creepy. That he had that background and was now hanging out with a bunch of teen (and younger) boys and keeping a young girl in a cage, all by his own choice. Never mind the things he was doing to his own family.

oh wow, good point! I hadn't thought of it that way, but yeah: he was totally an adult. Creepy!

Speaking of creepy, the scene where Rumple is about to kiss Belle who's actually Pan's shadow? Ew. (Mind, I adored that scene, where Regina has to snap him out of it.)

I'm a bit disappointed with Wendy's character, I feel like she was someone with more agency in the novel (and the Disney movie, for that matter), and more - power, really. I wonder if we'll see more of her, I'd like to.

(I didn't really like the Peter Pan reveal, but that's mostly because generally I liked Rumple's backstory better when it was devoid of magic before the events of Desperate Souls, as in season one.)

Oh, good then! I wasn't really aware of this community until your poll, it's such a great idea! Especially with the time-shifted conversation, because I almost never get to see shows as they air.

Yes? I'm not sure: they seem to be moving into a very different direction, and I also thought we'd see more of Greg and Tamara and that hasn't happened (though I still think Tamara's grandmother is someone important, because else why mention it? and this is OUAT).
But I think we'll still learn more about Pan's backstory, and that of other Neverland people, like Tink (the Blue Fairy says something like "this was your second chance", so my guess is the first time Tink did something wrong – according to Blue, anyway – had something to do with Pan), and there's a good chance this might involve Wendy. I don't expect to see her in anything but flashbacks though.

That was so creepy!!! I loved Regina having to snap him out of it as well. I really liked Rumple's and Regina's interactions when they met up again in Neverland. I don't really remember the Disney movie much because I haven't seen it since I was a kid and to be honest it wasn't one of my favorite stories. And I haven't read the novel so I'm not particularly attached to Wendy as a character, though I know a lot of people are and a lot were disappointed in how she was presented in this show.

To me I felt the whole thing was really creepy with the way she was kept in a cage on the island all that time and I don't feel they really did much with her character. I feel that they had her return to this season because it was expected since they were doing Neverland but they didn't really have that much for her and didn't do much with her that really mattered sadly. She was used to give Henry a reason to "save magic and Neverland" but not much beyond that.

When the new season starts up I'll start a new comment thread for each new episode that way anyone can jump in and participate in a particular epiodes' discusion anytime they want. Even if you don't watch an episode right away (since a lot of people don't these days) you can check for the comment thread later whenever you get around to watching a particular episode and jump in anytime.

Oh God, the Rumple+Regina scenes in that episode were the best. And this → I love how she had lost patience with everyone else and went off to find him so they could actually get stuff done and he she finds him like that - yes! Poor Regina with her "not you as well!", so alone. I liked her shock later, when she finds out that perhaps Rumple isn't on her side (what with the prophesy) – admittedly, there was no good reason to assume he didn't want to save Henry, and it all turned out all right, but she's always so surprised.

Ah, I loved the Disney movie, though I haven't seen it in years. I think I'm fine with the creepiness of her being kept in a cage: there's a fitting sense of child-cruelty and literalness to it, if that makes sense (putting people in cages is something I associate with children's stories villains).
The thing is, Wendy in that movie and the book is very important to Pan, and holds a certain amount of power, so it's a but sad to see her reduced to such a passive role where it it isn't even important that she's the one being held here (Henry would have choosen to save magic for someone else too). Though I guess I'm glad there was no sense of romance between them her and Pan, considering. What you say about them simply not having planned for anything for her to do makes a lot of sense, that seems likely (to be honest, I'd have liked it better if she'd just lived her life her 'our' world and had died of natural causes, and I hope perhaps there's a compelling plot reason why they couldn't do that).

Dude, she was dating a freaking flying monkey for 8 months, what the hell. I think I'd need to shower in bleach after finding that out. Ewww...

I was kind of sad that Hook didn't hang out with Charming in the Enchanted Forest, but I'm guessing that's why he didn't end up cursed. So it's probably for the best.

Nealfire saying that thing about, Let's hope it doesn't take a curse this time (about getting Emma and Henry back) seems a bit bad and could possibly be foreshadowing maybe? Or maybe not. I mean the Wicked witch went for Regina's blood right away so she's probably been planning her revenge for a while.

And crap Phillip and Aurora were working for her, out of self-preservation (and preservation of their unborn child), but still.

I'm really glad Storybrooke people have their memories, I really didn't want to do season one all over again.

I wonder who sent Hook the message and how he got the memory potion.

I really liked Snow and Regina working together back in the Enchanted forest. I'm glad Snow convinced Regina to put her heart back in.

So much love. I need to watch it again and then do a full write up. I didn't even take notes on first watch, I just wanted to bask in my show.

Hm! Hm...this feels like it's getting very confusing, and I wonder if they had originally intended for everyone to stay on the other side, but brought them back and erased the year, because Ginnifer is pregnant? Or if not, idek where they are going with this.

I was really impressed with the way Emma before and after memory erasure was played. It really felt like, before she got her memories back, she was a different person. Less burdened.

I believe the intention is that the season is supposed to be a mystery that needs to be solved/unraveled. It has similarities to season one has but instead of the audience being "in the know" we are almost as clueless as the cursed residents of the new Storybrooke. I'm glad they kept their memories this time. I was really worried about that.

I don't think Ginny's pregnancy had anything to do with the decision. They could have written that in no matter the location, they just needed the time jump. And honestly they needed the time jump anyways. Henry's like up to Emma's shoulders now, and his voice! He's just getting so grown-up and they really needed to jump ahead just for that really.

Also they already dropped the hint that Snow wanted a baby back in the Echo Cave scene in 3A and from what I understand the writers were not aware of Ginny's pregnancy at the time that was scripted.

I really liked how they played the before and after Emma too :)

I know a lot of people like Henry, but I don't, and the point of this comment isn't about bashing at all, but I really liked Robbie Kay's version of Henry. I wish he'd been Henry all along. I really enjoyed Robbie's Pan, too. He's very talented, and I hope we are able to see more of Pan later on. I'd love to see some more actual Hook and Pan backstory, or more Pan and Tinkerbell, because even if this Pan is different from like Disney's animated cartoon, Tink should still be affiliated with Pan. :)

Robbie Kay was awesome all around. I'm kind of meh about Henry in general. I neither hate him nor do I really like him that much either really.

I think more Hook, Pan and Tinkerbell backstory would be awesome.

OMG!!!! Okay I may be a wee bit tipsy at the moment, but damn. Rumple is alive and the Wicked Witch is the one who brought him back and he seems just a bit crazy. Okay, maybe more than a bit.

Loved jealous snarky Hook. Poor Robin and his people who are familiar with Storybrooke or the modern world. I don't think that Neal is a flying monkey. It's been mentioned too many times. There's something else going on here with him.

I guessed that Zelena was probably Regina's sister but who's her father? She was born first? Before she met Rumple? Or is it Rumple? It can't be Rumple or else he would have taken her, right? Because of the contract?

I don't know about you but I wouldn't let my kid cuddle a stuffed animal that moments before was a living flying monkey, just saying.

I'm so sad for Regina seeing Henry and him not remembering him.

I loved Regina and Emma working together.

I need to watch this episode again soon.

I'm glad that Hook was able to fill them in on the fact that they did all make it to the Enchanted Forest. He thought the message came from Snow. A message and a bottle of memory potion. I don't think it was Snow.

3B is going to break me into tiny little pieces that I'm going to have to spend the summer gluing back together, isn't it?

Thoughts? Feelings? etc...

I have so many feelings about this episode. I really need to do a rewatch to get my thoughts in order though.

I really liked Regina having time with Henry. I also liked how smart it was for Hook to suggest to Emma that they call on Regina before going into the storm cellar. Of course by the time they dealt with the David stuff and then got everyone back to the farm house Rumple was gone, but they were able to tell who had been in the cage easily enough. Regina looked pleased. I'm not so sure she should be considering that Zelena has the dark one dagger. Not that she knows that yet, but still.

I wish Snow wasn't so trusting. This is so not the time to trust strangers even if they claim to know people you were close to. They could be lying. Ugh. At this point she'd be better off using Grumpy as her midwife!

Mostly I'm having worried feelings right now. I love my show though :)

I on the other hand was completely cool with, and I have no idea why. You'd think I'd find it creepy?

I think one of my problems with the stuffed animal that used to be a flying monkey is I'd be worried that it might turn back at any moment, but that might just be my own paranoia talking.
