There were a number of things than annoyed me for this episode, but i am just going to focus on the stuff i DID like

1. ALLISONNNNNNN

seriously my favourite right now, she was SO great this episode and crystal reed is killing it!!! she was amazing in the scenes with her mother, i just want more of that. Plus as always, getting shit done!

2. Allison/Lydia

Allison was so good in the episode. I gasped when her mother appeared, that was so unexpected. I hope we see more of Allison with her mother because it really fleshes out her character in this arc.

i love the little glimpses of Victoria. honestly it would normally be something that i find a bit cheesy but i like it in this case!

I really loved the nonlinear storytelling. At first it was jarring since the show has never done it before, but it was really cool since it gave certain things a powerful punch, especially Allison and the thread. And when she was struggling to get the thread through the needle -- that was such a cool scene. It made me understand a lot more where she's coming from with her sudden turn to the Dark Side.

I liked the Derek/Jennifer bit at the end. It'd be interesting to see Derek interact with someone who has nothing to do with werewolves (unless she's somehow secretly involved) for more than one scene. I'm trying to imagine him at the school waiting for her to arrive at the car. Big scary bloody man about to pass out. He must have loomed behind some bushes in the shadows.

And gosh, I LOVED the Danny/Stiles scene. It had everything I love about the ship in one scene. lol It was amazing. Now I want to go binge on fic.

lol i am the opposite :D not a big fan of the nonlinear story, but it didn't take away the episode for me.

i really wish jennifer was more fleshed out as a character rather than just a love interest. i don't know how he got to the school! so weird but i guess he was trying to get away from people when he was so weak?

danny and stiles are the best!

yeah, I wish Jennifer was more fleshed out, too! I love how tropey the pairing is, but the lack of character development does dampen it a bit. haha I have a hunch she's going to have something to do with the plot and that's why she's so underdeveloped, so make her involvement is unexpected.

i really hope she's got something to do with the plot! i would hate for her to end up just dead/leaving at the end of it (unless she's sticking around i guess, but i find that unlikely)

I've liked nonlinear storytelling in other things but I really did not like it in this. I thought it pulled away from what, plotwise, worked quite well and, since the big OMG Derek's what!? was so obviously a bluff I thought that actually undermined the structure. Allison's stuff, it was very good however. It worked for her.

Danny and Stiles were the best!!

- How do you feel about the flashback format? When they break up a flashback like that it just confuses the hell out of me. I was sooo confused throughout the ep.
- Allison was particularly in front this ep, how did you like her scenes? Allison was totally awesome this ep and for once I seriously thought she was used well instead of just being there.
- So man Ships! LOL. I was seriously lol'ing at Isaac inviting himself along with Scott but again, SO confused cause I didn't realize it was a flashback.
- Did you think Derek might be dead? LOL, no.
- What is with the Alpha pack? NO idea why Deuc killed Ennis.. that was... odd.


WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH SCOTT'S EYES DURING THAT FIGHT, OMG. SO MUCH STUFF. And Peter.. and Cora.. and wow I'm so confused. So is Kendra Alan's sister????

I TOTALLY MISSED WHEN THE ARGENTS MOVED INTO AN APARTMENT BUILDING, WTF.

I really wasn't fond of this week's ep. I think it was the direction and the colour palette. Which sounds weird but the different bits - Miss Morell at Deatons, the kids on the bus, the fight, Peter and Cora working together, Scott and Allison's interactions, the omg what a predictable "shock" ending, individually and intellectually they were fine but the way they hung together was just kind of blah. It was a sadness. Did anyone else feel this way?

I AM HOPING THAT NEXT WEEK IS SO AWESOME AND WILL GIVE US SO MANY ANSWERS THAT I WON'T MIND SO MUCH.

no one for a second would believe derek is dead, he has "died" like 23 times already

Yeah Derek getting stabbed in the back by evil uncle Peter didn't kill him, falling off a balcony wasn't going to kill him either. It was just so unbelievable a mystery to build an episode around. Like, if someone else had been killed, if it had looked like idk Derek had killed Boyd that is a mystery that we could get behind, that actually built on the stuff that has come before. Also, with Derek kicking Isaac out last week and the emotional whiplash of it all it feels a little like a. they played their hand too early thus depriving the story of the powerful angst that would have come from the characters trying to figure out why Derek was being mean to Isaac, it b. resolved the storyline too early so that they knew that this was why Derek was rejecting Isaac and that this was what Deucalion was trying to get Derek to do, and c. made it feel like they had kinda just dropped that whole thing. There was no pay off from last week, it was like they wanted to seperate Derek from the rest of them and make a mystery of it but rather than do it organically and dramatically they did it ham-fistedly and made all the strings strongly visible.

I'm not sure this comment makes sense. I may have to like make mind maps and pull out books on narrative, or something.

Pushing Isaac towards Scott, totally for it. My shipper heart is there going "awesome, now lets get some Isaac/Allison looks in there kthnxbye". I just think... the episode doesn't feel right. Was it a new director? Were they trying something new and whoever it is that normally does quality control was on holiday or in a rush and just was like "yeah whatever just do it" instead of going "you know what, maybe this just needs more work, and better colour tone."

Also when they were doing the planning in Derek's loft...I was so happy to see Boyd and in my mind Isaac was totally there too LOL but of course he wasn't :-(

can't wait for next weeks epi! (be prepared for me being whiny and furious about Jenerek :-D )

yep she...that's why it sucks even more that they kind of made her such a "weak" character...I think she's be such an awesome BAMF, but maybe JD is toying with us and there's more to Miss Blake than it meets the eye...this is totally what I am hoping for.

As I said so many times before...I am a (die hard Sterek shipper) but I wasn't against the storyline of Derek getting a love interest...but there are just so many issues with Jenerek that they totally killed this ship for me.

1. the first meeting was awfully cheesy and had so many plot holes that made my hair stand up

2. second meeting was better, but they made her character a bit too similar to Stiles..with all the babbling

3. 3rd meeting...OH PLEASE. We have been there and seen that...with a much better ship and much more credibility

4. how can Derek trust her that easily...I mean this guy trusts NO ONE and suddenly a new cute teacher comes in to town and he saves her ass and BOOM trusts her enough to kiss her on their (what it seems) 4th meeting (and there might be more than kissing from what I could see in the extended promo of Motel California)...this might not be unusual for other people but we are speaking of Derek fucking Hale...whose former girlfriend burnt his family, tortured him and tried to kill him.

5. with the Alpha Pack and the Druid stuff it is a bit unbelievable that Derek would be interested in a relationship especially after his past experience in this department.

I wasn't a big fan of the flashback format, but I do like that TPTB tried to change it up. It made the episode seem tense and important.

Scott's becoming his own alpha, eh? Both with calming Isaac down and the red eyes during the fight. I like that it's happening sort of subtle-like.

Everyone is a BAMF this episode, they were all good - a well-balanced 42 minutes!!
