I am always a bit baffled by people who mention ads on YouTube because I never see ads on YT. I use Firefox as my browser with uBlock Origin ad blocker and it apparently also kills video ads as well as regular static website ads. The only time I've ever seen an ad on YT was when I used the YT app on my smart TV to watch a YT video, and that was the last time I ever used that app.
