Looking forward that one... but apparently there's a Chinese adaptation already streaming in the US: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/02/03/arts/television/three-body-review.html

Yes, I watched it earlier this year. I really liked it! Then I read the book (the series is only about book one of the Trisolaris books), and changed my mind again. Now I love it!

I don't know anything about this. The preview is mysterious and freaky.

I'm definitely going to give this a try, if only to see if it can hold up to the Chinese adaptation I watched earlier this year. That one was great!

30 episodes felt just right for me, and for a c-drama it's actually on the shorter side. *g*

They take their time developing the tension and ramp up the mystery, they give the viewer time to get to know the characters (especially important, as the book treats them more like templates and often doesn't even give them names), and they show us the aftermath of the spectacular finale, which is something I often miss with shows. All that stuff happened and we don't get to see how the characters deal with that? Well, this drama does it.

I know some people found it too long and boring, and didn't care at all for what happened in the past. Which is weird to me, because that's the most important thing about the book - the reason why everything happens in the first place.

Also, I'm very, very happy with the choice of actors! And it's visually stunning, and the music is fantastic.

I rated it 8.5/10 before I reading the book, and changed it to 10/10 afterwards.
