Me too. Although I think they went a little too over-the-top with Francis Capra (Weevil). Ken Marino (Vinnie Van Lowe) was great.

Gotham

Is anyone watching this? I watched the first episode but haven't watched any after that.
I was wondering if it has gotten any better.

This was the week I said "no." IMO it's mediocre at best, and I think because there was so much buzz about it and high hopes, it seems even more disappointing. I really wanted to like it. I do like some of the cast, though.

I liked it as well; I liked the cast and have always been partial to The Flash as a character. I'm just annoyed that the love interest is the only one in the dark about Barry's secret identity.

The Vampire Diaries 6x01

finally got around to watching this!

Overall I actually liked this episode a lot.

[Spoiler:I loved having Alaric back. This was the main reason for me coming back to the show to be honest. I wouldn’t have come back and watched season 5 this summer if I hadn’t heard about his return.

I think having Tyler be human again is interesting. I wonder what Klaus would think about that? He’d probably find it funny.

I even liked the angst of Elena not dealing well with Damon being gone.
And the end bit with Damon and Bonnie? I have no idea what is going on there but I want to know. ]

The Mindy Project

I'm curious what others thought about this episode because there appears to be quite a controversy over it, which surprised me. Some people found that it dealt with the issue of consent poorly and offensively. I personally did not read the episode the same way.

I haven't read much on what's been said but I think some people forget that Mindy isn't a Role Model or a Great Feminist all the time. I mean she can make really, really poor decisions. To me none of the episodes are there to teach us anything or tell us what the right thing to do is. Drugging herself so she can 'tolerate' anal sex? Yeah that was completely dumb. Danny assuming Mindy has had anal sex because she dated a lot of men? Dumb and dumber. Not having a serious discussion about consent? Not a great thing. But it didn't strike me as odd as far as characterization was concerned. Now was it supposed to be funny? I don't think so. If there was a point, to me, it was showing a couple talking about their sex life and being honest about it even if it was hard and awkward as hell and finding things they were both comfortable with. Could this topic be breached differently? Yeah sure and I hope it'll be done if it hasn't already. But with these two? Hmm.
