- Do you feel like they're maintaining a good balance between Ichabod and Abbie?
- JOHN CHO! Okay, honestly, were you surprised at his return?
- What do you think is going to happen with
- Anything you didn't like?

- I basically want all the Ichabod meets the 21st century moments. Maybe we can get a rant about government suveillance next week. ;)
- I admit, I was a little worried for some of the episode that Abbie might end up relegated to skeptical sidekick, but then she got her vision at the end, which I thought balanced things out a little.
- Totally wasn't expecting John Cho to come back that particular way, but it's good to have a physical villain. Although I wonder how long it will be before word gets out that a dead cop is wandering around.
- I'm looking forward to the seen where Abbie reveals she now believes her sister. Although I suspect there might be some anger issues there.
- I'm not sure love the eidetic memory thing. It's starting to feel a bit overdone. But maybe they'll put it to good use.

The eidetic memory thing reminded me too much of something that would be attributed to Sherlock Holmes.

Sherlock Holmes? Interesting. My first thoughts when I hear eidetic memory are Fox Mulder and Olivia Dunham, both of whom got to do the whole investigate-the-supernatural thing too.

Also, I keep thinking Miller rather than Mills. I don't know why. Fixed it in the entry!

ahahah I didn't notice

I totally blame Fox Mulder for this. The X-Files was the first time I ever heard about this phenomenon and then after that it has appeared in every scifi/fantasy/creepy show since X-Files. Olivia Dunham had this too. It's a bit plot devicey for sure but on the other hand if it saves some storytelling time so we can get to meatier things, then I will forgive it.

It's true! If it means it doesn't take him forever to learn to cope with the simple aspects of the real world--let him wrestle with changed mores instead!--then I'll forgive it.

When I saw the preview for this episode last week, I knew John Cho was going to come back. he's too good to not have around to do the Devil's work.
I'm surper curious about Captain Irving. I think getting funds could have waited over going to the funeral of the murdered sheriff.
I thought there would have been more screen time with Jenni Miller. That nurse was stupid to not have checked under her tongue for the pill. I think she's totally been seeing spirits or whatever since she's been there and that she's embraced it.
if anyone wants to see, here's a promo for next week's episode. (I don't recall seeing it after the episode ended for me, but then I was fast switching to catch The Blacklist on NBC)

Ah, see, that's what I get for not watching the previews! (They don't air here and I didn't track it down online.)
I assume we're going to get more screen time for Jenny (Jenni?) in the coming weeks. I suspect she's faking compliance--saying she isn't seeing things and pretending to be happy to take her meds--so they won't check too carefully. Nurses are busy, so yeah, they're probably happy not to have to spend too much time on seemingly obedient patients.
Thanks for the link!

- Favourite moment?
When Abbie says "What are we going to do burn her?" and Ichabod responds "Enthusiastically." Lol I laughed so hard at that and I kept repeating it in my mind.
- We got two Ichabod vs. the 21st century scenes this week! Did you enjoy them? What else are you looking forward to seeing him discover?
I really enjoyed them. I guess I love the idea of how historical people who react to how the world has changed since they left it. Hmm idk has he seen a tv or computer yet? Does he know he can skype with his relatives back in England?
- Do you feel like they're maintaining a good balance between Ichabod and Abbie?
I am really loving their relationship. I could sense that Ichabod might have been a little jealous when he found out that that dude was her ex boyfriend and his reaction kinda made me giggle. I like how they are working together and Abbie is starting to be more comfortable with what she's experienced.
- JOHN CHO! Okay, honestly, were you surprised at his return?
I wasn't because I read somewhere that he was returning but that neck thing was weird as hell. I like that his character shows remorse.
- What do you think is going to happen with Sarah Connor Jenny Miller?
You mean Abbie's sister? I'm not sure but I'm interested to find out.
- Anything you didn't like?
No I am definitely enjoying the ride.

loveeeeed this week :D

I liked that Andy Dunn showed remorse as well, it's not like he's a cardboard bad guy.

I love the idea of Ichabod as an inveterate gossip. I mean, he could just be trying to figure out his new partner, but it would be so much fun for Abbie to realize that he's somehow up on the details of the personal lives of every cop in the station and the Starbucks barista besides.
Yeah, Abbie's sister. Fixed the last name. I shouldn't post so late...

:D ICHABOD VS THE 21ST CENTURYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

This episode was really creepy and pretty and i liked it a lot.

Hawaii Five-0. Danny Williams says it to his partner, Steve McGarrett. They very much have a similar banter type relationship like Abbie and Ichabod. I love it.

Andy Dunn (John Cho) seems to be reluctantly helping the demon. I wonder if he saw the thing as a child like Abbie and Jenny did and had a very different outcome? Got sucked in somehow. He seemed sad that the man and boy were going to die.
I liked the return of the Sheriff in a vision vs. soley flashbacks. I like the father/daughter vibe.
Some of the one liners were pretty well done, other dialogue kind of made me cringe a bit - like the ex-boyfriend's conversation with Crane or when they were talking in earnest about resurrecting witches and people could overhear. DO YOU WANT PEOPLE TO THINK YOU'RE CRAZY?!?!!
The rant on a 10% tax on baked goods - LOL. Like someone said, his 21st century discoveries are amusing but I hope they don't get overdone. I liked that they used sticky notes in place of someone explaining indoor plumbing and hair dryers.

IMDB apparently has John Cho's character's name wrong. I'm told on the show they actually call him Andy Brooks, although I must confess, I didn't notice this myself. But since IMDB also spells Jenny Mills's name wrong (although not as wrong as I did in this post), I'm not sure I trust IMDB.
Yeah, I thought the same--keep the witch talk to the car! But I do love Crane's comebacks. It's a nice to see that he knows how to manage people, even if he can't figure out lights. (He really needs some basic "how things work" science books.)
I love the 21st century stuff, but I agree that it can't go on for too long. Or too much in any one episode.

I've seen that, or similar to that, in the movie Constantine. It was with identical twins played by Rachel Weisz. Isabel Dodson in a mental hospital because she was seeing things and a powerful psychic, while Angela Dodson became a detective with the police and also very much a skeptic of the heaven vs hell and demons and all that.
I agree re: the conversation with the ex-boyfriend. like what does it matter who Crane is? Abbie is no longer your problem since you broke up with her (that's the impression I got at least. or did Abbie break up with him?)
no subject
I thought Crane's close-to-truth lie was interesting, the ex-boyfriend's posturing about being a war vet kind of made me eye roll a bit. Contrived! Yeah, I'm not sure who broke up, but it seemed he wasn't entirely ready to let go now that she wasn't off to Quantico.
no subject
ohhhh yeah that's a good point. he seemed scared, mostly.
:D Me too.

Fave moment: Ichabod ranting about taxes on baked goods ahaha. YESSSS. I need all sorts of disapprovingness from him on the state of the American economy and government. I can't wait til he learns about the NSA lolol. I NEED ALL THE RANTS.
Ichabod vs 21st century is great. I cracked up when he tried the hairdryer and was like huh. This is awesome.
I think it's a pretty good balance between Ichabod and Abbie so far but we only have the two episodes. Time will tell but so far it feels very much like a team show.
I WAS SURPRISED AT JOHN CHO'S RETURN! I wouldn't mind if he just kept popping up randomly.
Ahaha SARAH CONNOR! I think either she'll break out of where she is or she'll be released but then she's clearly going to be a player in this battle against the evil blurry demon dude. I get the feeling Abbie and Jenny have clashed for most of their life since the event in the woods so crossing fingers for some eventual sister bonding and making up.
Not that I can think of off the top of my head, which doesn't mean I think the show is flawless, but this show has a really strong showing out of the gate and I think it can only go up from here.

i did enjoy the shower scene :D
