Re: Episode 1x03: Bushwacked
I love the whole thing with Wash and "who's flying this thing?"
The spooky ship and then what the Reavers left being was all creepy. I wonder why none of them noticed the smell though. That sort of thing with the bodies should smell, right?
I like how Jayne acts all tough about everything except Reavers for the most part. I also like this line of his "looked bigger when I couldn't see him."
Kaylee was great with her mechanical awesomeness! Love this line: "Besides, if I mess up it's not like you'll be able to yell at me."
They end up getting boarded by the alliance and I loved the interviews. They gave us deeper insight into all of the characters. I loved how closed mouthed Zoe was about her marriage and said they were private people while Wash couldn't shut about about how awesome and hot his wife is (and who could blame him really?)
I liked how much joy was on River's face while she was outside the ship hiding with Simon and how much he was afraid and how much she just seemed to love it.
Then the "survivor" of the Reavers turns Reaver and we get more insight into that whole thing.
I really like this episode and how much more we start to understand the characters.
Re: Episode 1x03: Bushwacked
The part with River outside the ship was delightful, and her first step away from "magic crazy girl" into an actual character.
Re: Episode 1x03: Bushwacked
Maybe. I would think there would still be some smell though. But I guess it isn't that important.
I did love River outside the ship :)
Re: Episode 1x03: Bushwacked
The reavers were so mysterious and creepy, I'd forgotten how bizarre it seemed.
River looking out into the black with the big smile on her face was also a bit unnerving. On one hand, it's nice to see her engaged/happy - on the other hand it's looking out into the black that made the reavers the way they are (or so the theory is at the time of this episode).
