Personally I don't usually do that much of a summary (though you can) about what the show is about, especially when it isn't a new show. Mostly I have the title of the show, the current season and what day and channel it airs on.
Sometimes I link to the show's website too.
Other than the episode threads, I also like to have a 'general discussion' comment thread for when people want to talk about the show in general and/or events from earlier seasons, but that is optional of course.
If you don't think you are going to be around to post a comment thread on time for a new episode, you can post it earlier. Even a couple of days earlier if you need to.
I usually put my comment thread up for the shows I captain earlier in the day (morning or early afternoon) of the episodes airing, even though I don't watch episodes live and am usually at least a few hours behind, if not days.
