New Show: The Night Shift

New Medical Drama The Night Shift Premieres Tuesday May 27th, 2014 on NBC

Welcome to the night shift, where the toughest and craziest cases always seem to come through the door.
Every shift is a fight between the heroic efforts of saving lives and the hard truths of running an underfunded hospital.
At San Antonio Memorial, the men and women who work the night shift are an irreverent and special breed, particularly adrenaline junkie TC Callahan (Eoin Macken, "Merlin"). After three grueling tours of duty in Afghanistan, TC is about to learn that his toughest battles will be fought right here at home.*

I was about to say I'm considering checking this out but what I'm considering is checking what people say about it. :)

So far, I don't think there's anything particularly compelling about thus show for me to give it a chance.

My partial cold shoulder to this and the other new show (you posted about) could also be explained as my catch up plate being really full (The Vampire Diaries S5, The Originals S1, plus both seasons of Orphan Black, Arrow, House of Cards, and Orange is the New Black.

I think that TVD works better marathon-style (especially because so many episodes are cliffhanger-y). I didn't tune in to The Originals because it didn't quite ping me (I've only watched the backdoor pilot during S4 of TVD). However, there was enough good word of mouth for me to give the show a try now that the season is over.

Meaning to check out (but not getting around to) is what's kept me from watching Orphan Black, House of Cards, and Orange. I think that, what happened with my Arrow-watching is that it went on hiatus way too long in December and it dampened my enthusiasm for it somewhat. /o\ That said, I do remember really liking it.

In any case, other than Game of Thrones, Penny Dreadful, and True Blood (when it starts in late June), I don't think there's anything else I want to check out.

So late July through early September is wide open for my catch-up list of shows. :)
