Feel free to discuss your rewatch habits/your feelings on rewatching/your favorite shows to rewatch in the comments.
I'll be putting the new comment threads up each Saturday around 12 AM EST.
Each show also has threads for general discussion.
They both have threads for linking to your fanworks too!
I'll be collecting those links and adding them to the Saturday round up posts in case you miss them in the comments.

Sometimes I rewatch a show for the pure enjoyment of that show. Shows I love so much that I can't get enough of (Once Upon a Time, BtVS, Angel, and Veronica Mars are some of my go to faves).
Other times I just can't deal with any extra uncertainty in my life and I need to watch things (and read things) that I'm familiar with. Even if bad things happen in them I know that they do ahead of time and I know when they happen in the story.
And there are shows that I miss that I just need to revisit again even if I wasn't 100% happy with the ending (I'm doing a slow rewatch of Lost right now).
There are also shows that I just don't feel the need to rewatch. I like them but once is usually enough.

I've never thought of why I rewatch something, other than the fact that I simply miss the show and like the certainty that comes from knowing where the narrative is going.

I also don't watch as many movies. I've been trying to watch more movies this year because in general I watch very few. I haven't even been to the movie theater in years. Though I do watch them on DVD.
I'm up to a whole 4 movies this year so far and that's with me trying to watch more movies. I used to watch tons of movies when I was younger though.

When I was younger I used to watch all the new movies. Crazy. lol

When I was younger my family ran a couple movie theaters over the years. A drive-in when I was really young and indoor ones both then and later.
I had to go because that was my "babysitting". I'd hang out at the movies and watch what I wanted, while my family worked. Or sometimes I helped out. But it also meant I got in for free. And free was nice :)
And later on when I was older I worked at one of them for a while until they sold it.
But those days are long ago and far away. But at now DVDs are released fairly quickly and have nice closed captioning usually. So, I like that. Though sometimes I miss the whole cinematic experience of the big screen.

Yeah, the big screen experience can be good.

Then once when I was young my dad started his own little restaurant that both he and my mother worked at but that failed and then later on when was an adult he tried again and I worked in the kitchen there. That failed within a year.
People don't understand how difficult the restaurant business is and that owning your own business isn't really fun. Lack of time off, often working on holidays and working for family not great either as you know.

ITA about owning your own business. I essentially do that now, and sometimes after everyone else gets paid there's not a lot left for the owner. And paying twice for vacations sucks (once for the vacation, and once for losing money by not working).
