SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

Last week we talked about what shows we felt had been cancelled too soon.
This week I thought the optional topic could be: shows that we feel may have continued on too long, or are still going on past their prime.
Do you think some shows have more seasons than they should? Or do you want as many episodes as you can get?
Do you think certain shows have a specific shelf-life? If so, how long is too long?

Are there any shows that you watch now that have been going on for more than seven seasons?
Do you think they should continue as long as they can?
Are there any shows that you keep watching because you just can't stop even though you think that they're already past their prime?

I have mixed feelings about the length of shows. In a lot of ways I think it's good when shows only run as long as the creators think it should. Like with Justified. Next season will be the sixth and final season and while I'm sad that it will be done I'm glad that they have a vision on how they want the story to end and I'm looking forward to seeing it play out.

I still watch Criminal Minds which is in it's 9th season I think and mostly I just do it out of habit I think. I'm still watching How I Met Your Mother mostly because it's almost done and I need to see it through but honestly I think they've dragged it on to long.

For a lot of shows I think seven is the magic number. Most of the shows I've seen go past seven seasons kind of fizzled out for me.

Then again there are some shows I love so much I don't want them to ever end, though I know that might not be best for the story.
