Episodes 1-4
Anyone else why they've supposedly given us so many answers to things this last episode? Feels kind of like they're setting us up for some sort of really big twist.
Who else thinks the station itself seems a little too much like Raccoon City?
What's the deal with Julia's writing on the cabinet wall, and has the place really been around that long?
And really, they had to off Dr. Boyle? She was awesome. Also, lasted longer than I thought she would.
Your thoughts?
Re: Episodes 1-4
I'm actually not sure yet if I like the show at all. I enjoyed the first three episodes, but I get freaked out so much, and now with everyone dying off, I don't know. It feels like there's a big ~thing still missing, something that explains why so many of the (so far) main characters are dead or dying, because it doesn't really make sense to me to set up a show only to kill off so many important (?) people in the first few episodes. It'd make sense for a mini-series or something, but I assume RDM et al. plan on Helix lasting more than one season. :|
But who knows, maybe the people we think are dead aren't really?
Re: Episodes 1-4
What are you getting freaked out about? The gore, the fact that almost everyone has sketchy motives, or how it seems a little like The Thing? ;)
ITA about he big thing still missing. The way they're giving us so much information is just wrong, especially with these PTB. I do hope it lasts more than one season-although on the Syfy site it says that all of our questions will be answered by the end. ??
But who knows, maybe the people we think are dead aren't really?
oooh, good question.
Re: Episodes 1-4

Exactly, yes!
on the Syfy site it says that all of our questions will be answered by the end. ??
What, really? That is so weird! I'm just going to think of it as a single-season show for now. That makes more sense to me, now that you've brought that up.
Re: Episodes 1-4
Daytime watching sounds very good for you, then. :)
Re: Episodes 1-4
Re: Episodes 1-4
The virus could definitely mutate. OTOH, there are so many labs and scientists there that I'm sure they'd be able to come up with something.
Re: Episodes 1-4
Well, I guess we've seen some of the weird things happening now. Still doesn't make much sense to me tbh.
Re: Episodes 1-4
I kind of like the not making sense. As long as I have the feeling that it might make sense later, and they don't totally screw up the science part (it doesn't have to be completely real, but as long as it's even remotely plausible I can go for it).
Re: Episodes 1-4
Re: Episodes 1-4
I hope it continues to be interesting.

Episode 5 The White Room
Does the episode title remind anyone else of La Femme Nikita?
Re: Episode 5 The White Room
I like the white room, but really, a head in a jar? In a weird plinth coming from the snow? I noticed that there were several more lights, so who else is 'buried' out there?
Too weird that Julia was hallucinating basically herself.
And does Sarah have migraines or cancer? Make up your mind.
Interesting bit with her and the sick scientist. And bringing in euthanasia? Although, if I were in the same situation...who knows.
Re: Episode 5 The White Room
YES, this! What is that all about? Sigh.
Too weird that Julia was hallucinating basically herself.
So do you think she actually hallucinated the writing on the wall, too? And I'm confused about the convos she had with Hatake, espesh that whole 'my daughter died in the fire' and 'you remind me of her' thing, combined with the fact that if the writing was real, she must've been on the base as a child.
I think she has cancer but is hiding it by saying she has migraines? I don't really get why, though. I mean, yeah, if she's no longer able to work, they'd obviously not let her, but maybe if she told someone the kind of meds she needs, they could synthesise them? It's not like there aren't any capable doctors around...
And bringing in euthanasia? Although, if I were in the same situation...who knows.
Yes! I think it's understandable, if a little premature. They still know nothing about the virus, so maybe people could actually be cured of it.
Re: Episode 5 The White Room
They wouldn't necessarily fire her over cancer. Although if they thought she might not be up to it, she wouldn't be on field trips. IRL synthesizing drugs can be tricky. But I agree that they have so many bright minds there that they might be able to do something.
I'm not sure about it being cured. Although when you think about Peter, I can see a possibility. I do wonder what will happen there.
Re: Episode 5 The White Room
But I agree that they have so many bright minds there that they might be able to do something.
Exactly! Still wondering about that. And wondering how her episodes, or whatever they were, were so bad two or three episodes / days ago and now they've stopped completely?
Yeah, they haven't brought up Peter at all lately, have they? Aside from in Julia's visions?
Re: Episode 5 The White Room
Ep 6 Aniqatiga
But, there will be time to watch later. So, any thoughts on the episode tonight?
Re: Ep 6 Aniqatiga
lol I love Alan making thermite. And he and Sara being in on it together-breaking in/out/whatever.
OMG, I knew he had to have other ways around the base-Hatake. And what did he really give Julia?
Aaand a new player. At least she is badass. Love how she beat the crap out of Sergio. If she's a police person, then why is she holding him hostage and asking about the base?
Poor stupid security guy. Sergio was kind of right about Hatake only using him.
Children? What children?
OMG, Peter and the Wolf while they're doing experiments? I swear the guy choosing the music was either on some good drugs, or he really wanted us to freak the freak out. OTOH, it certainly matched the tentacle thing growing.
(Kind of reminds me of the growing alien in the movie Evolution.
Oh shit, missing children in the area? Also I thought the area was supposed to be uninhabited.
Okay, so dumb security guy knows the cop? Clones? No, twins. Darn, I was liking the clone ideas.
I adore the freaky Thanksgiving scene.
Really? Did we need the sex?
Ruh roh, now David's lost the body. Hatake's going to be pissed. But now he knows who has Sergio. But, they don't know if he's alive or not.
And the helicopters come. Who's side are they on? Better yet, what will they do? Ilaria?
OMG, Hatake's made Julia like him.
And next week. Another badass woman. Cool.
Re: Ep 6 Aniqatiga
Yes! But it also sometimes makes the whole show even more creepy, doesn't it?
Re: Ep 6 Aniqatiga
Ep 7, Survivor Zero
So, who's watching tonight or tomorrow?
What will happen with Julie? What about the twins?
Ep 8, Bloodline
Episode 9 Level X
Re: Episode 9 Level X
Yet another level below level X.
Both men working together to go save the sister and her village.
Oh no, the assholes have made it to the village, and are trying to kill the villagers. I just don't see how they are a risk if they don't have any idea what's going on.
Yay for saving the villagers!! And brothers reconnecting!!!
Seriously, women know when to sit? She said that? Not every woman.
OMG, I can't believe the lower lower level is Julia's house. Question is, was Julia ever actually in Montana? Was she always in the arctic, and just thought she had been in Montana?
I seriously can't believe they didn't look before crawling back out, though. Especially since there was no more banging on the door. *rolls eyes at morons*
I know Julia helped get them by the vectors, but Peter also helped them by not acting.
Wonder if Hatake's going to *save* the other chick, too.
Finally her condition is out in the open.
But so is her tryst with Alan.
Where is the virus? I'm guessing it wasn't what the initial scientist found in one the labs on the first day.
We all knew the picture had Hatake and Julia's mother together. HA! She never lived in Montana!! And another HA, he is her father. bwaa hahaha But how did she end up in Atlanta with no knowledge of any of this? What happened to her mother? And what's the deal with the eyes?
Okay, how did smoking scientist guy get the Narvik virus?
Interesting....
Ep 10 Fushigi
Re: Ep 10 Fushigi
I'm glad the village has appeared to be talked into bugging out. And I still like the two alpha males reluctantly working together.
I wonder if the actor who plays Hatake really has that much of an accent. And why is he supporting Sara so much?
'Throw us the virus, and no one else will die.' Um, only everyone in the world. Yeah, not falling for that one. And how did the dude know the virus was in the other station with Julia and Alan?
I like the freaky chained up guy. And the fact that he wanted to be freed meaning killed was interesting. Humans aren't made to be alive forever. Heard that before.
Do we believe Hatake about why he chained up the guy?
Aaaand, I thought they were going to actually kill of Sara. But no, not so far.
Julia not destroying the virus? Is she putting answers above safety? Will she save Sara with her blood, or with the virus?
Ep 11 Black Rain (March 14th)
Ep 12 The Reaping
I really need to catch up. Anyone else still watching??
Ep 13 Dans L'Ombre
