Excellent! I was hoping someone would captain for this show.

I'm actually not sure yet if I like the show at all. I enjoyed the first three episodes, but I get freaked out so much, and now with everyone dying off, I don't know. It feels like there's a big ~thing still missing, something that explains why so many of the (so far) main characters are dead or dying, because it doesn't really make sense to me to set up a show only to kill off so many important (?) people in the first few episodes. It'd make sense for a mini-series or something, but I assume RDM et al. plan on Helix lasting more than one season. :|

But who knows, maybe the people we think are dead aren't really?

Mostly the gore. I cannot deal with horror films at all, and even scenes were ~dangerous people suddenly show up out of nowhere freak me out. So. I usually watch the episodes during the day. ;)

The way they're giving us so much information is just wrong
Exactly, yes!

on the Syfy site it says that all of our questions will be answered by the end. ??
What, really? That is so weird! I'm just going to think of it as a single-season show for now. That makes more sense to me, now that you've brought that up.

I can't really imagine it going into the political direction to be honest. Because so far, there's no story for it, really? So far it feels more like Lost or Revolution, just a complete mess of ~mythology and ~conspiracy. I could see a different story for next season, although I'm not sure exactly what. The virus could always mutate and make the story a whole new one.

Man, I'm gonna have to strongly disagree here. ;) I lllloved the politics on BSG. Easily one of my favourite parts of the whole show.

Well, I guess we've seen some of the weird things happening now. Still doesn't make much sense to me tbh.

Dr Boyle was my favorite! And the only one I'd connected with so far. :/ I am kind of on the fence about this show, tbh, and probably would have checked out already if it weren't for: RDM and the presence of a homebase here at tv_talk. But I'll hang in for a few more eps.

I read Annalee Newitz' review over at io9, and it convinced me to hang in there for a little while longer ;)

I like the white room, but really, a head in a jar?
YES, this! What is that all about? Sigh.

Too weird that Julia was hallucinating basically herself.
So do you think she actually hallucinated the writing on the wall, too? And I'm confused about the convos she had with Hatake, espesh that whole 'my daughter died in the fire' and 'you remind me of her' thing, combined with the fact that if the writing was real, she must've been on the base as a child.

I think she has cancer but is hiding it by saying she has migraines? I don't really get why, though. I mean, yeah, if she's no longer able to work, they'd obviously not let her, but maybe if she told someone the kind of meds she needs, they could synthesise them? It's not like there aren't any capable doctors around...

And bringing in euthanasia? Although, if I were in the same situation...who knows.
Yes! I think it's understandable, if a little premature. They still know nothing about the virus, so maybe people could actually be cured of it.

THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT TOO. And it's become much more likely now, hasn't it? Actually, with ep 7 aired now, I'm pretty sure she's his daugther in some way. And maybe the ~silver eyes mean something, too. Like, does Hatake also have them? And if so, are those what makes him able to heal so quickly? That would make sense, if somehow that ~family had some kind of way of resisting the virus that lead to silver eyes. Which made me wonder about Constance (Jeri Ryaaaaan! So happy to see her there!). Like, what if the immunity or whatever it is also makes them age very slowly, if at all, once it's fully realised? IDK, my thoughts are really jumbled right now. (I just finished ep 7.)

But I agree that they have so many bright minds there that they might be able to do something.
Exactly! Still wondering about that. And wondering how her episodes, or whatever they were, were so bad two or three episodes / days ago and now they've stopped completely?

Yeah, they haven't brought up Peter at all lately, have they? Aside from in Julia's visions?

I have to say, the jarring 60's mood music is just freaky. Still.
Yes! But it also sometimes makes the whole show even more creepy, doesn't it?
