What does representation in television mean to you? Do you find representation important? When did you feel represented in a TV show?

I do think representation is very important!

As a fat, queer, powerwheelchair user I don't think I've ever felt represented in a TV show :(

We could definitely use more of it. For example regarding wheelchair use, my partner and his sister are doing a joint watch of Ironside. Granted, white male central character but he was the main character and had a disability and that was back in 1967. I'm trying to think of a similar project more recently and nothing's coming to mind.

Perhaps revealingly, the original show ran for 8 years. When it was rebooted in 2013 with a black actor it ran for a year. That said, they changed the tone of the show considerably and it seems from reviews that no one was pleased with it.
