Yes, it seems that recently there's been a bunch of shows that seemed like one thing only to turn out to be a different genre or type of story entirely.

I think what I keep falling for comes down to the rise of really good trailer houses and sometimes trailer directors or music directors being brought in to shoot a series opener. I like highly stylized promotional material for things I already love, but sometimes I need to get a proper idea of what the show is actually like!
