What genre of shows would you want to watch?
There's Le bureau des légendes, it's an absolute masterpiece about the French secret services. It can be tough to watch at times, but the soundtrack is incredible and there are some scenes for which the cinematography is so gorgeous it's actually quite moving. Also, the acting is fantastic. There are quite a few other languages spoken on that show.

There's the Franco-British show called Tunnel. From what I remember (I was too young to watch it when it first aired as it could be violent at times) it's about police investigations. And also terrorism but that might just be my memory playing tricks on me.

There's also one called Nox, about Parisians undergrounds. Again, can be a lot.

My father decently urged me to watch La fièvre but I haven't had time yet. He has crappy tastes in films, but he's the one who got me to watch Le Bureau des Légendes and House of Cards so I trust his judgement.

Lighter themes, there was the show called Paris etc. a while ago. I don't remember much, but I do remember I had a lovely time following the lives of different women.

Fais pas ci, fais pas ça. A show about two very different families who are neighbours and constant trying to prove they're better than the other. I know the first season can be a bit off putting with the way it's filmed but if you're looking for a heartwarming French show that many of us used to watch about a decade and a half ago, it's probably the one.

There's, of course, Kaamelott but it's not everyone's cup of tea and the language might be an issue here as it very often uses old familiar French vocab. I grew up with Kaamelott, like many others, and if you ever hear the sentence "c'est pas faux", or "on en a gros", it comes from there. The first 4 seasons are very short episodes, with a humouristic tone that can go from very simple and quite stupid to very well thought puns and jokes. The last two seasons are much darker, the humour is still there, but Astier really gets to explore another side of his telling of the Arthurian legend. Then there's a film, that was released 12 years after the series was finished. Next film will be released in October 2025, two decades after the first episode aired on TV!

That's a lot already but I definitely have more up my sleeves if you have a more specific idea of what you'd like to watch ❤️

(Oh and you should ABSOLUTELY watch Dix pour cent! I hope you'll recognise some of the celebrities playing themselves because some are actually hilarious. It's a feel good show, with characters to get very fond of, 100%.)

OMG thank you that is a lot indeed! (In the most positive sense! <3 )

My main interest is in romance - all the rest is secondary.

So I'm totally okay with procedurals if there's some kind of romance (think Mentalist, CSI, Without a Trace). I probably won't watch the political thrillers, they're usually too dark for me (but I have in fact seen the Tunnel one - it's the only one from your list that I had heard of).

I will definitely try to get my hands on the lighter ones, and since you're the second person to suggest it (and Netflix has it), I'll start with Dix Pour Cent. (Not that I'll recognize the celebs, I'm afraid. :D)

Now I just have to finish HPI season 4 (and also probably make my way through Mehdi Nebbou's oevre, considering he has done *a lot* of German movies that I should be able to get).

Merci beaucoup! <3
