The Guardian's 50 must-see shows for 2025

The Guardian has put out its list of must-see shows coming in 2025. Keeping in mind that this is a UK paper and includes a fair number of UK-produced shows (BBC, ITV, etc) that may or may not become available outside the UK, do any of the shows listed sound potentially interesting to to you? Are there other shows you know are coming in 2025 not included here that you're excited about?

I am waiting for the second seasons of 'The Last of Us' and 'The Nightmanager'. And I am curious about 'Department Q'. The movies were okay, but not more. I hope, the series can bring back more of the books.

Department Q for the Kelly Macdonald/Matthew Goode duo. Riot Women for Tamsin Greig and Sally Wainwright's script.

Those are some good pairings! Both those shows look interesting to me too.

Government Cheese looks interesting.

I want to see Poke Face, but haven't yet.

I've been wanting to see Poker Face, but at least when it came out there wasn't an easy way to stream it. Maybe that's loosened up.

I'm very excited. I'm from the area but haven't been back in ages

Ooooh, I hadn't heard about Ghosts (Australia)! Awesome! We've been wanting to try Ghosts (UK), but I haven't figured out how to get my hands on it.

The most appealing to me out of that list was The Studio. That looks fun!

I'm ambivalent about The Last of Us -- I felt deeply betrayed by the ending of season 1. :-p

I'm not much into zombies, and I haven't seen any of The Walking Dead. But I really enjoyed the character work in The Last of Us. There were some lovely, very human stories.

With stories like The Last Of Us and The Walking Dead, the zombies and post-apocalyptic future are a mere backdrop, as it's the human stories that we mainly focus on and when done right they are handled with such great care. I haven't watched any of TWD, however TLOU does something beautiful with the story, both in the show and in the games. And I'm excited to see the second game adapted in the second season.

I think for me it would be Miss Austen (which I'd already heard of), The Studio, Ocean, Small Town Big Story, and as I loved Derry Girls would like to try How to Get to Heaven from Belfast.

They say Get Millie Black was already available here but I hadn't heard of it.

That's a lot of television shows. And it's not even all the television shows on must-see lists I've seen to date. I've reached the point in which I forget the television shows unless someone on DW alerts me to it close to when it airs and writes a review. Or I accidentally stumble upon it.

There's a really nice iOS app called Next Episode that I use to keep track of my tv shows. It's easy to use if you want to check it out

The only show on here that I'm most excited about is The Last Of Us, simply because I adore the games and that the second season is covering at least half of the second game (from my understanding, I don't know where the cut-off is going to be, I have my suspicions but it'll be interesting nonetheless). Just from the teaser trailer alone I'm so hyped for it.

I'm definitely looking forward to season 2 of Severance, and apparently I'm in the mood for comedies/dramedies, because Government Cheese and How to Get to Heaven from Belfast were the two that jumped out to me the most from that list.

Also, we don't have a release date for Deadloch season 2, but filming's wrapped, so I'm crossing my fingers we could see it this year!
