Which K-dramas are you currently watching? Do you have a favorite K-drama character, couple, or family? Or several of them?

(That first one looks like it might be my kind of dumb fun, plus I liked the actress in Different Dreams, so I might give it a try.)

If you decide to give My Military Valentine a chance, I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts! So far, it's a mixed bag for me.

I hope the next few episodes will have more meaty character moments, particularly with the female lead.

My Military Valentine thoughts: Unless I misunderstood something, the synopsis makes this show's premise sound a lot more romantic than it actually is (so far). That said, there's still a lot of ridiculousness to enjoy, particularly in the first episode. The storytelling seemed a little random and choppy in places but maybe that's just the show trying to find its footing. Lloyd is a great, comedic foil for Young-ok's badassery. I hope we get more character moments for them both in the next two episodes.

Tomorrow, With You was a DNF for me. Do you plan to watch more?

I will probably watch the second episode because I liked that both leads were imperfect characters. Without spoiling the major mystery, what did you dislike about it?
Edit: Watched the second episode and will watch more. The only thing I truly dislike, so far, is the way they treat the female lead's drinking problem.

My friend and I thought it didn't have much narrative drive, and we didn't like the relationship between the leads. But it might well be one of those YMMV things. I think we watched about half a dozen episodes, and then I skipped ahead to see how it ended.

(Just out of curiosity is the plot… bad? Or it’s just kind of meh compared to the chemistry the characters have?)

(On an unnecessary sidenote: I'm still not entirely over shipping Jung Ryeo-won's with the male lead in May It Please the Court, so I'm curious about her chemistry with her co-lead here.)

(Haha, I didn't see May It Please the Court. I'm still shipping her with Lee Junho and Jang Hyuk from Wok of Love.)

(Don't waste your time with May It Please the Court. While it had some of the funniest banter I've seen in a K-drama, I was disappointed by the terrible case/investigation. Glad to hear that JRW is also immensely shippable in other shows!)

It's really just the setting and there being an age difference. I haven't heard of Melancholia, but going by its trailer, Midnight Romance is lighter so far. Both the leads are determined and having fun. But yeah, Crash Course was more of a comedy.
(Haha, I've watched the extremely trashy I Can Hear Your Voice twice, despite its terrible plotting, so that isn't necessarily a deterrent. And banter is definitely a draw!)

(The banter is fun but the case is a bit dark, jsyk. Never finished I Can Hear Your Voice because, at that time, my Oska crush from Secret Garden was still so strong that it simply wasn't fun to see Yoon Sang-hyun lose out on another romance.)

Aww! I didn't really buy him as an idol in Secret Garden, but he was still great. Is there a drama where he does get the girl?

Finished The Atypical Family
Still, episode 12 delivered a satisfying ending that felt appropriate considering the show's general tone. Not going to lie, I would have preferred a couple more minutes toward the end, but they did well. The Atypical Family is one of my personal K-drama gems of 2024.
