I finished off Locke & Key, really unhappy with the 3rd season. Am most of the way through Money Heist, and saw a little more of Queen Charlotte, Bodies, The Diplomat and Wednesday this week. Also finished off the 2nd season of the MCU's What If?
Yes, I'd agree with you there about S1. I think S2 is more hopeful -- even though a lot of the episodes start out grim I think they go to a more satisfying resolution.
I gave up on S3 of Lock & Key. I enjoyed the first two seasons, but S3 lost me. I can see why it got cancelled. Still haven't finished Money Heist (my family members love it - mother and bro both adored it. But mother did warn me that it gets even more violent as it goes). Still need to try Bodies and 2nd Season of What If.
I did see The Diplomat (which I loved) and Wednesday which I enjoyed last year.
I think if you liked S1 of What If? you'll like S2. Bodies is still iffy for me. I'll definitely finish Money Heist but I'm skipping through a good bit of it.
Mostly just stand-up, I think? One episode each of Krapopolis, a cartoon for adults set in ancient Greece, and Maron, an old sitcom starring Marc Maron. And last night we watched Lift, a comedy heist movie with Kevin Hart and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, which was silly fun. I'd happily watch a sequel with the same crew. :-)
The Curse was so absurd. I read some pretty good interpretations but even those don't come close to making the finale feel satisfying to me. Overall, I wish the weirdness of the finale would have fit better with the show universe they had introduced to us.
Best Leftovers Ever: Mainly used this one as a show to watch during 30-minute work-out sessions. Terrible host and disappointing execution of an otherwise interesting premise.
Class of '09: The pilot hasn't exactly grabbed me because nothing about Kate Mara's character was truly exciting. Fortunately, the POV characters seem to be changing with each episode. Not sure the small amount of Brooke Smith will make this worth watching. However, the presence of Sepideh Moafi helps.
The Curse: WTF? Not saying that I hated the season finale but I'm still unclear about why this show appeared on so many "Best of 2023" lists. As The Vulture put it: "It ended as it began, which is how it always was: a soup of famous and semi-famous names goading us to watch, then refusing to be watchable."
Diary of a Prosecutor: One of Lee Sun-kyun's shows I always wanted to watch. I really liked the tone of the first episode but I hope future cases won't involve weird shaman/ghost stuff.
Sort Of: Finished S1 and I'm currently watching S2. I love that this show features so many trans characters just existing, living their life without depicting it as this constant struggle or involving huge portions of trauma. In general, the queerness throughout is absolutely impeccable.
Movies: I just finished Konferensen on Netflix. It's a cute, little Swedish slasher movie. No surprises, and pretty tame kills, but I thought it was entertaining enough.
1. Finished S2 of Only Murders in the Building (Hulu) it was okay. In some respects better than S1, in other's not so much. But sticking with it. And enjoying the guest stars, such as Shirly McClain. Starting on S3 soon.
2. Watching rest of Fargo (most recent installment with Juno Temple and Jon Hamm).
3. Currently watching the film "Minbari" on Netflix.
4. May go back to "For all Mankind" Apple Plus and "The Crown S6" Netflix
5. Tried "Echo" - on Disney Plus, couldn't get into it.
6. Watched first episode of Not Dead Yet (not for me).
This week I binged the new season of Break Point (Netflix). I also finished s04 of For All Mankind, started the latest season (s27?!) of Silent Witness, and Criminal Record (Apple TV+). And continued with the X-Files (still on s04). I also restarted watching Scavengers Reign, this time with my husband. I'd only gotten to ep 4 on my own, but he was intrigued by it, so I offered to start over at the beginning with him.
I am looking forward to watching some Australian Open tennis, True Detective, and I may finally start in on s02 of The Traitors (UK). I have six episodes ready to go, and three more will air this week, so I won't have to wait too long between eps.
Season 4 is a definite improvement over season 3, which kind of went off the rails a bit with a few misguided subplots. Season 4 is full-on back with all the space stuff and I really enjoyed it -- felt more like seasons 1 and 2 again.
Finally started For All Mankind s04 now that all episodes are out there. Not sure how I feel about some of the new characters yet, but I'm interested in the subplots being set up.
And I'm very much looking forward to the new season of True Detective today!
I just mentioned above that I'm also very much looking forward to season 4 of For All Mankind. I like knowing all the episodes are out so I can keep going, but I also like to savor them one at a time - I can't decide! (LOL)
Exactly! I still had a few episodes of season 3 to get through, so waiting for all of season 4 to come out made sense to me. This way I can watch a couple of episodes a day and have time to process all the stress and tension :P
Taskmaster (UK): I just finished series 16, which I think might go down as one of my favourites of the show. Every contestant was gold, but I now particularly want Sue Perkins and Susan Wokoma to co-star in a show where they solve mysteries together.
Deadloch: Speaking of, I finally watched the first episode of Deadloch and I'm hooked. Queer noir humour and Madeleine Sami being a hilarious hot mess? Yes, please! I'm really looking forward to watching more this week.
Star Trek: Lower Decks: I've been rewatching this along with the WarpReactor channel, with this week's episode being 2x07. I'm really enjoying revisiting the series through fresh eyes.
Very Important People: This rounds out a comedy-heavy week. Long improv can be hit or miss with me, so I wasn't sure about the premise of a talk show where neither the host nor the guest know what/who the guest will be dressed up as until filming starts. But three episodes in, there hasn't been a dud yet for me. This week's unhinged results of the guest playing the host's menacing ex-stepgrandmother had me crying laughing in parts.
Aha, Deadloch is the one I keep seeing recced. (I tried out Lockwood and Locke and Key because all I could remember was the Loch part...) What service do you see it on?
Ha, I've totally done that with similarly named things myself. (I once picked up the Cloak & Dagger comic thinking it was the Locke & Key comic.)
I'm watching Deadloch on Amazon Prime, which I think it's exclusively on at the moment. I finished another two episodes last night and am still really loving it.

I enjoyed some of the season 1 episodes, but I remember several seemed mildly depressing.

1923. Didn't work for us at all. Being told to stick with it past the first two episodes...
Waiting for True Detective to drop tomorrow night.

New season of Vera started, so watched the first ep. Same with Silent Witness, first two eps.
Tried Delicious in the Dungeon anime on Netflix but didn't really like it.
Binged the entire season of Boy Swallows Universe and loved it.
This coming week I am looking forward to the new season of True Detective, and all the Law & Orders being back woo.
