OH MY GOD. Abbadon's manicure. THE BROKEN WINGS. Kevin. KEEEEEEEEEEVIN.

I really, REALLY wish they would stop blowing off Kevin's mom, though. I mean, SERIOUSLY if it was their mom, they'd be in the car (or if it was Sam, or whatever). If Kevin's really family, his mom should be too. >:(

Also, my general opinion: NEEDS MOAR CAS.

I didn't notice much on the manicure. Hm.

THE BROKEN WINGS.

I KNOW! That just killed me!

Kevin. KEEEEEEEEEEVIN.

I love him so much. He's such a cutie!

And agreed on his mom. I don't trust Crowley for a second and neither should he, but I can totally understand why he'd want to. And yeah, the guys would do the same.

I'm glad Dean was a little more fatherly/compassionate toward him this time around. They are too harsh with him most of the time. I know he needs to toughen up, but it's not like he chose this life. Not that they did, exactly, but they seem to have more options on quitting if they really chose! And at least they have each other. Poor kid's got no one at all.

And I do think Crowley was right. I do think they just need him, but if push came to shove, it would be bye-bye Kevin. I hate to say it, but I think that's so.

OMG YOUR ICON!!!!

Yeah, the thing about Kevin's mom is that THEY NEVER SHOWED HER DEATH ONSCREEN. I think it's just as likely that she's alive and just fine. There wasn't a shred of physical evidence of her death (if I'm remembering correctly) or that they even talked to her. We haven't seen Garth - it's just as likely they caught and tortured him, and then told Kevin it was his mom because that would upset him the most. At the very least, FIGURE IT OUT so you can give the kid some peace. Dean in particular has always been a bit shitty about Kevin's mom, and I've never understood why.

I think Crowley was right about Kevin's place in the Winchesters' lives too - it was one of the reasons I was SO SURPRISED when Dean called Kevin family. That's probably why it felt a bit disingenuous to me. I think Dean really likes the kid and wants him to hang around (and yeah, he's totally useful), but I wouldn't have ever assumed he felt that strongly about it, so I'm thinking he's doing some preventative maintenance on their relationship there (or maybe regular maintenance, since Crowley's planted the seeds of doubt).

Thanks. Made on LJ and I've never know if we're supposed to use those icons here, otherwise I'd look up the maker.

I thought it was just me and my short memory not recalling what happened to Kevin's mother. (I really liked her too!)

Another thing that came to my mind was the introduction of yet two new hunters. I know this is just a writing thing, but it doesn't seem to fit that we were always told there were so few in the world, but it's only Dean and Sam doing most of the work. Why isn't everyone joining in here? (Again, I know that's just one of those writing things you have to put up with. It doesn't make much sense within canon, but I guess if a particular storyline needs it, then you put it in. I just have to keep reminding myself that it is ALL make believe, i the end.)

I need to watch the ep again because my TV reception is generally crap and I miss things when the sound goes in and out. Thank goodness for the interwebs.

Hahah, I like this icon too - and have something vaguely similar, heh.

You're totally right. Crowley told Kevin she was dead but there was absolutely not a scrap of proof, there has been nothing concrete that says she's dead or has been in Crowley's hands or anything. I mean, Dean says you can't take Crowley's word for it, so, they can't take his word for it that he killed her, either! ARG FAIL LOGIC.

I never got the feeling that there weren't that many hunters. I mean, yeah, compared to the whole population, but they've always had like 20 or so in their phones and we know new hunters are being made all the time (just look at Krissy and her crew). I liked Tracy, actually, I kind of want her to stick around for a while.

I never really got Sam and Dean were doing most of the work, either - there always seemed to be other hunters off in the background doing other things (referenced by Bobby or phone calls or whatnot), and if anything, the Winchesters seem a bit like black sheep in the hunting community, thanks to the apocalypse (and Sam's demon blood before that). So I assume the hunters are just doing what they can do, hunting the things they find. The thing that they don't have (and probably have never really had), is a network. Yeah, you can reach out for information, maybe backup on a single case, but you don't work in large groups, and there isn't a consistent way to pass on information or check in for help (or even know all the hunters out there - they don't really have large social circles, these people). There's no infrastructure there, and what little they had passed from Bobby to Garth - and now Garth seems to be awol.

Yeah, I always download the ep while I'm watching so I can watch again right away, see what I might have missed. :D

She is stunning, I love her and can't wait for a season full of her badass self.

I knooooooooooooow, OMG. I mean, COME ON. Find her one way or another, if she's dead, fine, at least there's closure and if she's not, PUT HER OUT OF HER MISERY! And again, closure. I mean Kevin's, what, 19? COME ON.

Dean's discomfort is my favorite - Jensen plays that so brilliantly, the way he can't look Sam in the eye, you know? Love it.

I don't know how long the secret-keeping is going to go on, but it always seems like it's longer than it should because Dean is SO OBVIOUS about it. He can't keep a secret to save his life, never could. Sam is still getting his feet under him, I think, but once he does, he's going to figure out something is wrong with Dean.

I have to watch that last scene again. I thought it was a little strange the first time, but not Sam's reaction, exactly. It feels like a Sam reaction, it just feels a little close on the heels of everything that's happened, is all, and I do assume it was Ezekiel pushing that. I read a fic about this that captures everything about it perfectly, The Beast In Me. I think that it was Dean's reaction - he's not sure if it's Sam or Zeke talking, and that's the part that makes me want to get the secret out in the open already.

There was a lot of innuendo this ep - nothing we haven't really seen before (except the MP and Kevin), but more pronounced than a lot of those things had been before (especially Crowley/Sam and Abbadon/Dean - that whole scene was extremely sexual). I just figure it's part and parcel of the show - it's been coming on stronger as the seasons go by.
