Speak Up Saturday: What are you watching?

It's another Saturday and once again we're asking what you've been watching over the past week and what you think of it.

We also have a question about the format for Speak Up Saturday. The mods originally planned to do a variety of topics -- which might pop up as polls on Tuesdays or questions on Saturdays. However there was an enthusiastic response to our first "What are you watching?" with a request for more.

Would readers prefer to have this same question every Saturday? A short poll:

Poll #29888 Speak Up Saturday Topics
Open to: Registered Users, detailed results viewable to: All, participants: 23

Should Speak up Saturday vary its options?

We gave up on Justified - City Primeval around the fourth or fifth episode.

Castlevania sounds AMAZING. Going to add that to my watchlist.

How is Dark Winds?

Dark Winds is REALLY good. I adore Joe Leaphorn. Start with S1, when it drops on Max, if you have it.
Although technically you could watch S2 without S1, you might be a little lost - since the characters are introduced better in S1, and they kind of assume you know who they are in S2. S2 is also a lot darker.

But it takes place in the 1970s on the Navajho Reservation in Arizona. And focuses on the Navajho Station Police, the two main characters are Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee. And the actor playing Leaphorn is so good.

I'm struggling with Justified : City Primeval as well. I loved the series, but this is a bit too dark for me. And the villain is your run-of-the-mill sadistic creep. I'm on the fourth episode.

Castlevania is fun - all the characters are well rounded, and there's some seriously good voice talent in their. I mean James Callis can do cold and bored and slinky better than anyone. It's also well written. Say what you will about Warren Ellis - he is a good writer. [ETA: I ended up watching Castlevania for two reasons - Netflix kept throwing it at me and putting it on my watch list, and it had been rec'd by various folks on DW over the years.]
