What do you like best about scifi?
Beyond telling story, good science fiction should expand your mind and make you think. Often it is a commentary on our current culture, either in hope or in warning, and I find parallels fascinating.

I'd agree. Sci-fi can often shine a light on current cultural issues far better than anything else. Also it really shows the struggle over and ethical difficulties in regards to many technological and bio-engineering advances.

That's one of the reasons I live it.
