What have you been watching this week? Star Trek Enterprise Season 3, Teen wolf, Continuum, Game of thrones, Hannibal...i dunno some cooking shows?

ahahah no. lots of things in america don't translate well to NZ, and frequently its with high-priced ingredients or just for more than one person. So not so much. sometimes it gives me ideas though

I'mmostly going because friends are going and I haven't been in a while. I did like the trailer, though!

Are In the Flesh and The Fall any good? I've barely heard about them and know next to nothing.

I liked them!

In the Flesh isn't at all what I was expecting. (Really, I only started watching because it came on right after Orphan Black and we were too lazy to change the channel.) It's about zombies being reintegrated into society after a "cure" is found that restores brain function, leaving them basically who they were before, although a whole lot paler. Only people who died during 2008 became zombies--their victims did not--so the number of zombies is manageable. But of course, people did die, and a lot of people aren't happy at the thought of having a zombie living next door.

A lot of the show is a metaphor for mistreatment of minorities as represented by zombies, etc., but the family dynamic and some other things I don't really want to talk about because they're spoilers add some extra layers. I thought it was quite well done.

The Fall is kind of a standard cop show? I liked it, though. The big distinguishing features--apart from Gillian Anderson (who's excellent)--are that all five episodes focus on one serial killer, and half of the show is actually about the killer and his family and home. I like that they manage to do that without ever leaving us rooting for him or sympathetic toward him. It still manages to be about how horrible it is for his victims. Although my heart is going to break for his wife when she finally finds out.

If it helps, In the Flesh is only three episodes long and The Fall is only five (and available on Netflix). Admittedly, I believe they're both coming back for second seasons, but you can cross that bridge when you come to it. :D

I am kind of curious about 'Man of Steel' but I haven't kept up with info about it. (Other than watching the trailer, which impressed me.)

What reality tv shows do you enjoy?

As far as I'm concerned, "reality" and "show" don't belong in the same universe. I watch TV to get away from reality!

What sort of posts would you like to see here in the future?

Maybe show discussions, since I'm watching TV alone these days. I so desperately miss the LJ days of old, when the minute a show ended there was a flood of activity!

How is Hemlock Grove? I've been mildly curious about it.

Well I'm only two episodes in, but it's good. Confusing, intriguing and odd at times, but I am interested to see where it goes and the characters are being explained really slowly which makes me want to keep watching. Plus it's super creepy.

And I'm possibly a little in love with the opening credits-- they're really beautiful. Which probably won't encourage you to watch it but give it a shot!

What have you been watching this week? Teen Wolf and Defiance and Continuum. Oh and I caught a couple of episodes from season 2 of Hawaii 5-0 that I hadn't seen before.
What movies have you been/are you excited for? Despicable Me 2. Lol. Star Trek into Darkness, I was excited for that, and Iron Man 3.

I prefer comment meta too, it seems so big and scary to write huge long essays. I'd be worried I'd make a horrible error and the whole thing'd be wrong.
