Season Nine begins with the fallout from the angels’ descent to Earth. Sam and Dean are faced with a world inhabited by thousands of powerful beings who immediately begin to form their own agendas. Before they can tackle the threat of the “loose nukes” roaming the countryside, Sam and Dean must face their most personal battle yet. Meanwhile, Castiel awakes to find himself more vulnerable than he’s ever been. As the threat of the angels escalates, the boys are tasked with finding a way to reopen the gates of Heaven and send the Host packing. But a dark secret hangs over Dean’s head – has he finally crossed the line to protect his family?

Dean is frantic after Sam collapses and the doctor tells Dean his brother won’t make it. Desperate, Dean sends out an all points bulletin via prayer to every angel in the area, asking them to help his brother. In exchange, Dean will owe that angel a favor. Numerous angry angels race to find and kill Dean, but one, Ezekiel (guest star Tahmoh Penikett!!! YAY!), gets to him first. Meanwhile, Sam fights for his life and must face some familiar demons to do so. Castiel struggles to survive without powers.

FYI --- I don't get the CW network in my house and have to wait for the iTunes version. *weeps* I plan on posting sometime during the day the show airs so that people can use it as a reaction post or comment along as they watch, etc.

I loved seeing the boys working together again. But I really didn't need another round of secrets and conflicts and "Sam's not strong enough so Dean has to help him even without his permission" and blah, blah, blah. I think Sam has proven himself, and it seemed last season he had been doing exactly that.
Sigh. I guess we'll just have to see.

I'm withholding judgement until I see how it plays out, but the secrets between brothers wears a bit thin with me, too. There are some differences with this round so I'm being optimistic?
(I should warn that I'm a pollyanna - LOL)

Oh, I try to be optimistic as well. I just get weary of the way Sam's portrayed by the writers sometimes. They've both screwed up, but at this point in the series, they've both been heroic too. I know there needs to be conflict for drama's sake, but it's been shown again and again that they work best together, as equals. I wish they'd go that route more often.
And as much as I don't want to think about this show ending, I think it needs to. And when it does, these guys had better win. I couldn't bear anything less. They so deserve a happy ending.
Or at least... a not defeated one.

NGL after his "confessions" I really think that was something Sam needed to hear - even it was from Death
the scenes were so pretty.
Not too thrilled that the brothers have secrets between them again, I see how this one is different and under duress. I hope the payoff is worth it for both of them.

I'm not thrilled with the 'keeping secrets' aspect of it all, but am willing to wait and see how they're going to let that play out. I did like Ezekiel and hope he comes back.

I don't follow casting news too closely so I don't know how many eps Tahmoh is going to be in, but it was lovely to see him and I liked his character!
