Hello, television viewers! I thought we could use another social post since the last one was so successful. Feel free to talk about any TV you want, below is a texty to use if you want.
Name
What TV have you been watching?
Who is one of your favorite one-episode characters?
What show have you not watched, but are considering?

Aris Boch is
Boba Fettan alien bounty hunter who shows up in the episode 'Deadman's Switch'. He's rather snarky and totally badass. He claims to be the Greatest Bounty Hunter in the Galaxy and who knows... maybe he is.no subject

What TV have you been watching? This week: Blue Bloods, Hawaii Five-O, Criminal Minds, the international Criminal Minds, and eps 3x08 and 3x09 of The Librarians. Oh, and the second half of the episode that was on PBS last night of Call the Midwife. I thought that was a reality show... totally going to watch it now.
Who is one of your favorite one-episode characters? Matthew Ashbaugh, played by John Noble on The Good Wife. I really liked that episode.
What show have you not watched, but are considering? Oh man, this list is way too long for me to even remember what I have sitting in my netflix queue.
Also... this week it clicked for me that Luke Cage is Lemond Bishop. I still haven't watched that on Netflix, so it's been a while since I watched Jessica Jones, and then I was watching the preview for that thing this summer and went HOLY SHIT!

I'm so in love with that show.
(although I realised I don't have any Sense8 icons and now I'm sad).

ETA: Your Doom> icon is a good substitute, because you just can't go wrong with Karl Urban's face.

For the past week(end) I've been watching season four of NCIS:LA. My initialy plan to start from the beginning of the show got changed very fast. I watched the backdoor pilot and the first two episodes, and then I decided I already know seasons one t(w)o three too well and moved on instead. Was a good decision, and I've been enjoying myself a lot!
Who is one of your favorite one-episode characters?
My most favourite is from the TV show Earth: Final Conflict. Colonel Liam Kincaid. I mean, we all knew that "Liam Kincaid, former second in command to William Boone" wasn't Liam's real identity, but still - meeting the real Liam Kincaid came as a surprise. A great one, though. To this day episode 2.21 Message in a Bottle is one of my favourite episodes of EFC, and largely because of Liam interacting with the real Liam Kincaid. *g*
What show have you not watched, but are considering?
Far too many! I've tried not thinking about them, though, and have been concentrating on NCIS:LA exclusively.

I'm not sure how I feel about female nominees no longer having their own acting categories -- not so much for these awards as potentially other ones. There are certainly more female roles in TV so I think they'd be less affected than in film, but it seems to me that this is automatically cutting the number of awards you hand out. And even if the winners alternated each year between a man or a woman, you're talking fewer actors with awards, and since awards also = higher salaries, that's not going to help narrow the pay difference for men and women.
It's bad enough that some shows (and people) get nominated over and over again when there are often more deserving nominees around. It seems to me this isn't likely to help since with a separate women's category they have to come up with at least 5 women even if it keeps going to only 1.

How about they make 3 categories - male, female, overall.
and the criteria is the how the character identifies
Probably won't happen, but still...

What TV have you been watching? Currently, Once Upon a Time, Agents of SHIELD, The Americans, The White Princess, re-watching season one of Outlander. Waiting on other shows to start back up.
Who is one of your favorite one-episode characters? Probably Marty Glenn from the X-Files episode "Mind's Eye."
What show have you not watched, but are considering? American Gods, The Handmaid's Tale (both will happen, just need to start).

What TV have you been watching? The Great British Baking Show (rewatch), Lie to Me, Daredevil (rewatch), Lucifer, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Parks & Rec
Who is one of your favorite one-episode characters? Hmm. Can't think of any at the moment. All of my faves ended up being in multiple episodes after a while.
What show have you not watched, but are considering? Leverage is definitely on my list. I'll probably have to wait for American Gods to come out on DVD. Modern Family has been recommended to me.

What TV have you been watching? The Americans, but I'm two episodes behind. Madame Secretary, but I'm still one episode behind. Elementary--we might be caught up with it. The Expanse just came in at the library so I'm re-watching season one. Genius, the series on National Geographic about Albert Einstein, but again, I'm behind. I watched one episode, the pilot, of Mad Men. That was not for me. I'm seven or eight episodes behind on The Magicians. The second season is so violent, I can only take it in small doses.
Who is one of your favorite one-episode characters? From Fringe, the second episode of its fourth season, "One Night in October", my favorite character is John McClennan, who is a professor of forensic psychology in Our Universe and a serial killer in the Other Universe. It's my favorite episode of that season, and actor John Pyper-Ferguson is outstanding, playing both roles.
What show have you not watched, but are considering? I have Wuthering Heights (PBS Masterpiece Theater) on my DVR, so once I'm caught up with my weekly shows I'll watch it. If Stranger Things ever gets released on DVD I'll order it from the library. Ditto for The Man in the High Castle, The Handmaid's Tale and a detective series, the name is escaping me just now. I'm not holding my breath. I don't subscribe to Starz but even if I did, I've never read American Gods so I wouldn't be able to watch that until I did. I'm considering watching seasons eight and nine of The X-Files. Better late than never?

I have watched a few episodes of Stranger Things and can say that the comparisons to The X-Files aren't wrong, but not entirely on base either. (I watched X-Files as it aired, but not much since and haven't finished the 2016 episodes yet). It definitely has an 80's feel and Winona Ryder is amazing and I almost didn't even recognize her. Anyway, the comparison probably comes from the government conspiracy threads, which seem to be high in both shows based on synopsis and trailers.
