I enjoyed it. The episode itself doesn't really stand out to me but that hell scene? I don't know what the proper name of the people that worked on it are called but they really deserve some recognition for that. It looked like I've always imagined hell to be.
They really are playing up the Jenny Mills = Sarah Connor, aren't they? I sympathize with her unhappiness that she, the true believer, was passed over for the role of witness in favour of her sister.
It's interesting to me that Corbin mentored them both, but never tried to bring about reconciliation. I wonder if he would have, if Jenny had seemed more open to it?
LOVED Abbie explaining Crane to Jenny. How's that for belief and acceptance? (It's also interesting that Jenny may possibly be an expert on the American Revolution. Did Corbin know how important that war was for the whole supernatural right?)
Also happy to see the make use of Crane's photographic/eidetic memory (which one are they going with?) for plot purposes. If you're going to introduce these things, I like it when they're remembered.
I think corbin probably was training them BOTH in different ways, which is great.
i kinda hope the two witnesses end up being jenny and abbie, and ichabod is just the handy tag-a-long but i guess they've already locked in abbie and ichabod.
Poor Jenny! She believed, she trained, she put in the work, but she's passed over. Definitely hard to accept! But I wonder if instead it will turn into the role of her sister's protector, or something.
Maybe Corbin had a longer game plan, but his death got in the way of it?
Haha, that was great. 5 SECOND BREAKDOWN. I love that Jenny was quizzing him on Revolutionary War stuff. MAYBE THEY CAN BOND OVER ~~HISTORY
I'm still in Camp Ichabod/Katrina, but tbh, I can see Ichabod/Jenny more than Ichabod/Abbie. (Although Ichabod & Abbie BFFs forever! Poor General Washington will just have to step aside there.)
Yes. I'm down with the BFF thing. And I feel like Katrina could be really interesting if they ever, you know, give her more than five minutes of screentime.
- I adoreddddddddd Jenny and Abbie's squabbling throughout the episode which led the way to their heartfelt conversation at the end. Their relationship obviously isn't totally mended but, SISTERSSSSS, I want them to get to know each other and work together and remember that they love each other. SOB.
Their conversation actually made me think of Fringe, which loved to have heartfelt conversations between the characters, and sooo much of the Sleepy Hollow crew are from Fringe so I'm glad that tradition carried over. I HOPE WE SEE MANY MORE SUCH CONVERSATIONS.
- omg Ichabod talking to the OnStar (or NorStar or whatever their fakey brand was) lady, LOL.
- SO MUCH PLOT HAPPENED. I LIKE IT. Also I like how Ichabod Crane is apparently involved in every major event of the Revolutionary War, ahaha. Excellent.
- So they laid down the ground work with the Hessian's comment that they are hidden everywhere.. they could even be your friends. Then it cuts to a shot of Irving. MUST DECIDE IF HE'S ONE OF THE BAD GUYSSS. I don't want him to be. OR maybe he's a bad guy but will come to the side of goooooooood. That would be okay.
- I'M NOT SURE WHICH MILLS SISTER I SHIP ICHABOD WITH HARDER. My struggle is real.
- Bless this show, it is the high point of my week tbh. Action! Adventure! History! Dry wit! Lots of pretty people! Unique plot! HELP I'M IN LOVE
They're really amping the conspiracy aspect. I'm kind of glad it's not all witches, though. But I'd still like to know why all these people are so intent on ending the world! Maybe they think they'll be rewarded later?
I am also glad it's not all witches. So much occulty stuff out there, let's dabble in everything! :D Re: everyone who wants to end the world, that's always something that cracks me up. Why would ANYONE want to unleash hell on Earth? But yeah, maybe there's some reward they will get.. or think they will get.
I loved that Crane made the On Star Navigation Assistance woman (Yolanda?) cry by telling her his love story. And I liked how they got Jenny & Abbie on the same side relatively quickly without handwaving the rift between them. GOOD JOB.

True. Corbin probably did have a long game. Pity he died! Except when we'd really have Captain Exposition.

I'm hoping we get more rapid working-through of the issues so we can move on to bonding! (I really prefer external conflict to internal.)
