In all truth, my side-eye to AHS began at the end of Coven. I think that the ending left a bad taste in my mouth (especially regarding Misty Day's story arc). Regardless, I tuned in for Freak Show and was bored. I felt that it was a lot of look and the plot going way over-the-top (even by AHS standards and that is saying something).
I bounced shortly after the Mordrake 2-parter so I wanna say episode 5 or 6. Never bothered to finish the season.
TBH, I'm a little curious to see how Lady Gaga fits in Hotel. Based on what've read, however, it seems like the plot makes even less sense than in Freak Show.
All in all, I don't think I have the patience to get into AHS only to see it crash and burn (because we all know that Ryan Murphy can build a story, but is really terrible at taking that plot to an end point. You'd think that, having watched all six seasons of Nip/Tuck would've reminded me of this. Alas).

AFAIK, AHS ended in its 3rd season.
