As you've seen I can't do every Friday so let's use this whenever you want to talk about something. Doesn't have to be me. :)

So what have you watched recently? Did you smile? Gasp? Wince? Any favorite scene?

I love it. There's clearly nothing amazingly original or clever about it but it works and I squeed when freaking Rutger Hauer appeared. It was so awesome. Made me think of Ladyhawke too, which is never a bad thing, right?

We haven't seen the second ep yet but it IS fun.

I also squeed really friggen loudly when [Spoiler:Rutger Hauer] showed up. I couldn't contain myself.

*high fives* I'm still giddy about it. And I'm definitely even more in love with the King/Gareth duo after ep 6.

I wish this was longer. I've been so excited for it for so long that I'll be super sad when it's over.

It really is a cute show. It just seems like everyone involved is having so much fun. I'm really bummed it's almost over. I wish they would've aired one episode a week so it seemed like it was around longer.

Yeah I don't get why we had two eps a week either.

I'm ridiculously enarmored with this show. It#s so much fun and the songs are so clever!

OH, WAIT! This is that show with Timothy Omundson?!

*smacks head*

I'd heard of it when the idea first came along, but I hadn't been keeping up and then I forgot about it!

It is and he's amazing in it!

I have got to catch up! I fell in love with him on Psych and I NEED him on my screen again. (Even in that godawful beard he chooses to wear these days.)

I just watched the first ep and I loved it! It's ridiculous and over the top. I watch so many serious shows, it's good to just watch something silly and fun for a change. Plus, musicals are my favorite thing in the world!

HELP! I have fallen into The 100 and I can't get out!

I'm sometimes worried, when I have very high expectations for a show, that I'll be disappointed, but to my surprise this has not been the case with Agent Carter.

I've only seen the first two episodes (from 6 Jan) so far, but I love it as much as I suspected I would.

Have only watched the first ep but I thought Hayley Atwell/Peggy kicked ass and this was a very, very good pilot. I also worried I'd be disappointed but I'm looking forward to following her adventures. Also loved seeing Victor (Enver Gjokaj).

My favorite part is just the sheer amount of ASS that she kicks. SHE'S TAKING ALL THE NAMES! I can't wait for tomorrow!

Oh yeah, it would have been very easy for me to be underwhelmed, after my poor experience with Agents of SHIELD - Agent Carter is everything I wanted that show to be, and then some.

(Don't know if you gave up on Shield or not but, imo, the show got so much better and some stuff that may have not made a lot of sense did. Just saying :)

Spoiler:Ok the Tammyjamm plotline? Amazing! Leslie and Ron's rivalry? Why not? But the rest didn't convince me. I kinda felt like the magic was broken and this was very unsubtle and coming out of nowhere (yeah it's the future but we haven't had the time to see the characters evolve) and Andy and April were over the top somehow. Like a caricature. I don't know where they're going with this but it didn't work for me as a season premiere.

Love, love the new season and the change in dynamics but, man, did you have to go there? Hope the rest won't be as predictable...

I'm enjoying the current season too; though I initially had reservations about Kitty, I've been pleasantly surprised, so I guess we'll see how they decide to take that storyline...

I'm surprised at how much I'm liking S3. Especially because I'm usually not a fan of TV shows introducing new characters in an attempt of breaking up the dynamics between the leads.

So far, my fingers are crossed that it continues being good at a steady pace instead of falling into an abyss of DNWs (like it did last season).

I am still watching CHEERS.

And I finally watched the first ep of GILMORE GIRLS!

Oh! GG is one of my favorite shows (especially the earlier seasons) Enjoy enjoy!

I've been meaning to do it for years. I am glad it's finally on Netflix!

If you can say without spoiling at all, did it have a decent finale? At least so that you weren't screaming and throwing things against the screen like happens with other shows?

Not that I'd ever do that.

You know, I can't recall!

It's sort of a B-list series for me - meaning I love the first few seasons a LOT and usually start it from the beginning on Netflix -- but I don't feel as compelled to pick up watching where I left off and finish the series all the way to the end before starting over (the way I do with BtVS or DS9) -- if that makes sense.

Of course, YMMV. I do think the show took a dip in quality in the final season because the original writer/creators weren't there, but wrapping up is hard to do.

I totally understand. I'm hoping it'll be that type of show for me too. It seems shows have become oh-so-serious/heavy/angsty in recent years.

Or it could be just my own particular choices. As much as I loved 'Breaking Bad' and still love 'Supernatural', YEGADS, but they are emotionally exhausting! Whatever happened to watching TV for fun?

Full disclosure: I kinda became somewhat emotionally detached around the sixth season. To a certain extent, my overall love for the earlier seasons helped me make it through seasons 6 and 7.

Now, as series finales go, Gilmore Girls ended on a, let's just say, OK note. There were a few things that I didn't feel one way or another because I didn't care about XYZ characters. I also felt that certain outcomes would've worked much better. IIRC, the series' creator had stepped away from the series due to botched negotiations with the network and her presence was felt in the final season.

I don't think that you will be tremendously upset, but you won't be blown away with feeeeeels either. YMMV.

Been watching Elementary (which I'm digging so much more than last season), S1 of The Americans (very cool. I wish I'd gotten into this show earlier), Empire (which is KILLING it as a nighttime soap opera), and I'm halfway through a Sailor Moon rewatch (right now, I'm on S2).

Shows I want to catch up on by the end of this week: Agent Carter and Revenge.

Show I've dropped for sure: American Horror Story: Freakshow and Sleepy Hollow.

I keep looking at the calendar with a hopeful expression for: How to Get Away with Murder, Scandal, Game of Thrones, Power, and (the hopefully good second season of) True Detective.

still bummed about how much they keep shortchanging ezekiel's character. we now officially know more about jenkins than we do about him and the way the episodes usually unfold, the role ezekiel plays in them, that line from jake in the finale about ezekiel's being a "pity book" rings way too close to truth for comfort.

*nods* I agree the show needs more balance between all the characters and I think less monolithic characterization too because it sometimes seems the characters are in their neat boxes and they don't get to be much more than that (or if it happens it's not very surprising) and I feel it's particularly true of Ezekiel.
That being said I really enjoyed the finale: it was nice of them to resolve some things already (unlike certain other shows...) and the 'turn around' moment in the woods was pure comedy gold. I hope they get a second season to make things better.

I just binge-watched the second season of The Fall (a BBC show that's on Netflix in the U.S.) and loved it twice as much as the first season. Stella Gibson (Gillian Anderson's character) is fascinating and the show does a great job with female characters in different roles all across the board.

Oh it looks amazing (plus Gillian!) and I've always wanted to watch it but was a bit worried it would too hard to watch sometimes (UK shows can be brutal which I like but...). May I have your opinion please?

IMO it's not as brutal as, say, Hannibal, which I can't watch. However, the story does center on a serial killer who targets, tortures, and kills women. But the show's actually pretty restrained in showing the violence. Things are implied or discussed more. It's very psychological with a slow burn. Hope that helps!
