How is The Great American Baking? I love the British show because it gives me exactly why I watch Reality TV, people doing amazing things without scripted drama. That's why I usually only watch the dances on SYTYCD and mute everything else because the judges make my brain hurt. I'm not there for them, I wanna see the dancers.

Well, The Great American Baking Competition is... okay. It's not as bad as I was worried about and not as good as I was hoping. They kept the music from the British show, which is awesome! And Jeff Foxworthy is supportive and nice (not particularly funny, but I'm sort of pleased he's not faily, so). The bakers are so very American, though (or rather, USian) and it's so disheartening (and a little embarrassing). There are some bakers who are particularly USian that I'm enjoying (the lady who made chocolate-peanut butter-bacon pie) and then, others that make me want to punch them in the face (the dudebro who is such a douchebag and full of himself to boot). It's almost exactly the same in format and Paul Hollywood is a judge and I like the lady judge too, though she's no Mary Berry.

Yeah, I yell at the judges a lot. I'm so pleased Nigel has stopped talking about masculinity all the time (man, I had forgotten that about the early seasons - until they showed a dancer who came back for the third time and his old tape, Nigel was harping on how not-masculine he was). I mute if I get too annoyed with them, but generally I do like to see if they agreed with me about the performance and whether it's a difference of seeing it live or on TV, or if they're just wrong. ;)
