Hello [community profile] tv_talk!

Sorry I didn't post yesterday :(
But here it is - our weekly opportunity to chat about non-current TV. Anything goes! Please stop by and tell us what you're watching, what you've been thinking of checking out, etc. Closed canons or something currently airing that you're just behind on -- it's all good. :)

Some possible topics:
- What show(s) have you watched this week?
- What older show have you not watched that you think everyone else has seen? Why haven't you watched it? Do you think you ever will?

I've heard of that series, and I added it to my list because it did look awesome.

The Bletchley Circle is fabulous!!! I remember being so thrilled to hear they'd commissioned a second season, then bummed it was only 4 episodes and my favorite character was out of there after 2. Still, I loved the 2nd season almost as much as the first and I wish we'd get more at some point but I haven't heard anything either way.

I have never watched a single episode of Supernatural, Teen Wolf, Glee, or any of the idol/dancing/runway shows.

It wasn't a conscious choice; I just never got around to them (and most likely never will).

I know it's a mega-fandom juggernaut, and a number of people I know are or have been very into it, but not only is the "nine seasons" thing a bit daunting, I'm just going through a phase where I prefer female leads in my TV shows.

ETA: I could add Hannibal and Walking Dead to my "seems like everyone seen it but me" list. Although I loved SotL, I have no interest in the show, and I'm not a zombie fan, so WD is a no-go.

This week I watched Gotham, Arrow, Flash, and Kingdom. I need to see Constantine. I am in the process of getting caught up on Sons of Anarchy.

This week, I watched my currently airing: Ripper Street, Parenthood, Reign and Heartland.

In shows I'm catching up on, I'm currently watching Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries (up to the beginning of S2), I started and finished When Calls the Heart (a bit like Dr Quinn Medecine Woman and it airs on Hallmark, you've been warned). I've also started Friday Night Lights whose first season I watched ages ago (right after it aired) and then I got bored by S2 and never finished so hopefully this time I'll stick until the end. I'm also more or less working on Once Upon a Time but very slowly (like one episode a week). I'm five episodes into S2 and I really don't like it compared to S1 but I live for those fairy tale-historical scenes.

To answer your second question, I started watching Game of Thrones when it started airing and then stopped because I thought it was incredibly problematic especially when it comes to its portrayal of women and I can't stand torture. I don't think I'll ever finish the show.

A big YES to Friday Night Lights!
Although, yes, it`d be more enjoyable if you like football shows/movies in general, but still. It is a drama show, with no forced comedy. The character are great, they adress a lot of stuff (problems) that got nothing to do with football. And the cast is made of win.

It is slow at times, but if you manage to keep watching, it`ll be worth it.
I`ve started watching it ages ago, then gave up on it because of no time. Then I bagged all season on DVD, and watched everything in one go.

Ben Browder once said FNL is the only show he`s watching on TV (when it still was on air), after I was done watching it all, I understood why he watched it.

I`ve started watching "The Good Wife". We have a re-run on tv, they`ve started with the first episode. I only started watching it because it airs right after the daily 3 episodes in a row run of NCIS at the same network.

I thought it`s not made for me, apparently I was wrong, I like it. And I`ll continue watching it.

And I`m still trying to catch up with NCIS:Los Angeles. I stoped watching the show middle of season 1, by now I`ve made it up to 3.4.

Did anyone watch "The Nightshift" or "Satisfaction"? those are two shows I really enjoyed. I`ve watched all of "The Nightshift" in one go, I`m glad it gets a 2nd season.

Both shows have drama, but a lot of light moments also, and I like the humor :D

The Nightshift aired on NBC, Satisfaction on the USA network. Both are confirmed for a 2nd season.

I`ve started watching Satisfaction only because of Matt Passmore. I just love to watch the guy on screen :D

After watching a trailer for The Nightshift, I had to give the show a try, and it didn`t disappoint. It`s drama, with the right amount of humor, even hilarious at times. It has a lot of great character & actor.

I`m slowely, but surely, catching up on NCIS:LA. I got season 1-3 on DVD (season 4 and up is still too expensive), but I`ve only watched until 3.7 so far.

Show lost me middle of season 1, but the addition of Deeks, and the changes that have been made, did it for me. I really like what I see now. No idea if it`s going to stay like it is now, but so far I`ve got nothing to complain about.

- What show(s) have you watched this week?
The Flash, Bones, Constantine, GRIMM, The Walking Dead, Arrow and Game of Thrones (I'm behind 2 episodes though)

Started this show Reckless on Netflix, got 7 episodes in and was enjoying it enough to see if it had a 2nd season ... Nope. ):

And started watching How I Met Your Mother ... which I never watched when it was on air and everyone else probably did. So far I'm enjoying season 1 (almost done with it).

- What older show have you not watched that you think everyone else has seen? Why haven't you watched it? Do you think you ever will?

Supernatural - I saw the first two seasons, and then things just got weird and I couldn't keep up with the whole thing. Characters I liked died and it just wasn't clicking with me - Maybe Ill give it a try, not sure.
Lost - Dunno, just couldn't get into the show ... Don't think I ever will watch it.
(How I Met Your Mother) - Am watching it now, finally

I didn't think I would enjoy it, but I've really been getting into it ... especially the last three or so episodes. Every season starts off rocky, so I wanted to give it a chance, but it's been really good.

I looooooooove Grimm too. I am letting a few episodes pile up so I can watch them back to back (I hate waiting every week lol). If you have Hulu, it's on Hulu.
