Returning Show: Resurrection

RESURRECTION Returns Sunday September 28th

The people of Arcadia, Missouri are forever changed when their deceased loved ones suddenly start to reappear. An 8-year-old American boy, Jacob (Landon Gimenez), wakes up alone in a rice paddy in a rural Chinese province with no idea how he got there. Details start to emerge when the boy, who calls himself Jacob, recalls that his hometown is Arcadia, and an Immigration agent, J. Martin Bellamy (Omar Epps), takes him there. The home he claims as his own is occupied by a 60-year-old couple, Henry (Kurtwood Smith) and Lucille Langston (Frances Fisher), who lost their son, Jacob, more than 30 years ago.

If you want to talk about spoilery things…use white text in your comments:

How to do spoiler text on DW:

Use white text. Remember to include beginning/closing brackets and/or other demarcations, so people will know there's a spoiler there, not just a bunch of random white space.

[Spoiler:<span style="color:white;background:white;">your spoilery text</span>]

produces this: [Spoiler:your spoilery text]

I checked out the show when it first aired. It's based on a book called The Returned and I really enjoyed the book - the ambiguity of it all and the things that lead the author to write it (his mother died). I'm not sure how the end game was going to translate to TV and didn't wind up connecting with any of the characters.

That said, I did only give it 2 episodes, so it might've gotten better. If it gets good reviews and/or depending on what people think of it - I may binge watch it someday.

I would recommend the book in any case.

I watched the first few episodes, then lost interest with it because it felt a bit predictable.

I'll check out the book though
