Returning Show: Blue Bloods

BLUE BLOODS Returns Friday September 26th

BLUE BLOODS is a drama about a multi-generational family of cops dedicated to New York City law enforcement. Frank Reagan is the New York Police Commissioner and heads both the police force and the Reagan brood. He runs his department as diplomatically as he runs his family, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his unapologetically bold father, Henry, during his stint as Chief. A source of pride and concern for Frank is his eldest son Danny, a seasoned detective, family man and Iraq War vet who on occasion uses dubious tactics to solve cases with his loyal and tough partner, Detective Jackie Curatola. The Reagan women in the family include Erin, a N.Y. Assistant D.A., who also serves as the legal compass for her siblings and father, and single parent to her teenage daughter Nicky; and Linda, Danny's supportive wife. Jamie is the youngest Reagan, a recent grad of Harvard Law and the family's "golden boy." Unable to deny the family tradition, Jamie has decided to give up a lucrative future in law and follow in the family footsteps as a cop.

[Have you ever watched BLUE BLOODS?]

Yes!

[Tell us about your experience with the show!]

I was just curious because of Tom Selleck. He was a childhood crush. (Yes, I had posters!) I can't believe he still looks fantastic!

I ended up loving the show, especially Danny. Yes, I know the hotheaded cop who doesn't play by the rules is cliche. But Donnie Wahlberg does such a great job with the character. I still can't believe he was part of a boy band. I just... my brain can't go there. It can't!

I love that he and Linda have a strong marriage. It's so good to see an adult, mature, committed relationship for a change!

[If you do watch, do you have any favorite characters?]

Danny and Frank, but Erin and Linda too. And it's great to see Nicky, a teen girl who is mature, doesn't hate her parents, is still sweet, and is not a rebellious brat! I hope with all my heart the writers keep her that way. But I doubt it.

[Favorite Episodes?]

The ones with Bebe Neuwirth! I vaguely knew her from 'Cheers' and 'Frasier', but at the time I began watching BB, I had not watched the other shows. (A few eps of 'Frasier' here and there, but that's all.)

Since then, I watched all of 'Frasier' and now I'm on 'Cheers'. Totally backwards, I know! But I've come to love her as an actress! And from the few interviews I've seen, she seems adorable in real life as well.

[Are you excited about the new season?]

I am, but also nervous. This show quite often has unrealistic happy endings and I'm afraid they're going to start messing with that to get more ratings. And since it's a cop show, you just know it's a matter of time before they do something horrible to one of the characters.

Real life is hard enough. And I've watched and still do watch more than my share of "realistic", "gritty" (read: everyone's miserable) types of shows.

I know it's quite often not realistic the way they tie things up... but you know what? That's okay.
