- Season 6 saw one of the first divisive casting changes in the Stargate franchise. What are your thoughts on Jonas Quinn?
- Who were your favorite characters?

I haven't watched his season in a while but I remember liking Jonas quite a bit. Granted, I watched it knowing MS/Daniel returned and Jonas was only a temporary replacement, but I thought he was a sweetheart.

Favorite characters: VALA!!!!!!!!!!! Also Cam. And Sam. And Teal'c. And Daniel. And Janet. And lots of minor characters, too.

I can imagine that knowing Daniel returns made the viewing different. I liked Jonas quite a bit, but I also liked Cameron and Keller (SGA) and never felt the "replacements" were poor choices.

You'll notice I didn't answer my own question here because it contained favorite character. I can start with Sam and then just start listing random characters until I've basically exhausted the entire cast. I even adore Aris Boch for cryin' out loud! ;P

Keller was the only one I saw introduced in real time and I adored her right away. I missed Carson, of course, but I thought Keller was awesome.

lol, the Stargateverse is full of good characters.

Stargate really does have an awesome array of characters.

JONASSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!! I loved him so much!! I have nothing more intelligent to say. Other than YAY JONAS.

Sam was my favorite character, always. <3

Sam really is the best ever. I still adore her and have yet to find another leading lady to fill her ~~shoes~~ combat boots.

I started watching Stargate after it left Showtime and moved to Scifi Channel. I loved Jonas Quinn and was sorry to see him go and Daniel return. Daniel is/was my least favorite character of the four core team members. He got into trouble too much and was always putting other people in danger as a result. Jonas was such an optimist. Everything was new to him, just like it was to me, so I guess he was my lens into the world of the series.

Jonas was very excited by everything, it was a lot of fun to watch.

Daniel did get into a lot of trouble - haha!

This week, I finished my netflix binge of Copper. Again, the racism and chauvinism - while somewhat shocking by moderns standards - is expected for the period. There were a few things that bothered me, police brutality at the forefront, Annie's entire arc (ie. child-as-victim). I do like how the series handled the idea of city corruption and the "organization" - because it feels authentic, like it really was how things got done. I also like that Kevin and his merry band of misfits tried to stay above the fray while also committing questionable acts all the time. I prefer morally gray over morally bankrupt any day. And I do think the viewer is supposed to see the irony in that, rather than think him some lone ranger sort of hero --- at least that's my interpretation.
It ended at a satisfying place for all intents and purposes, although I could see a few threads they were leaving open for a future season. I think that it would've been interesting to see how Kevin handled the corruption of the "organization" after he'd spent much of season 2 unwittingly working at odds with it.
After finishing Copper I went back to Criminal Minds to catch up where I'd left off. Season 8 saw a replacement for Prentiss named Alex Blake. I thought it would take me a while to warm up to her, but maybe taking the hiatus was a good idea because I enjoyed her character just fine.

I don't pay much attention to a show's wardrobe unless it's really bad, so I'm curious what others think/notice.

My favorite TV characters include anti-heroes like Mal Reynolds and Beka Valentine as well as competent women like Sam Carter and Dana Scully. I also like people who try and sometimes fail, like Sam and Dean Winchester - who fail spectacularly at times.

I'm hoping to check out and catch up with some shows new to me before their next seasons begin soon: The Comeback, Key & Peele, Hannibal (because Gillian Anderson), Bob's Burgers. I've been watching one or two episodes of K&P regularly, but the new semester is definitely wrecking my usual bingeing.

I'm also rewatching all of Vince Gilligan's X-Files episodes because I'm a geek.

Re-watching X-files is never a bad thing, is it?

Couldn't watch most of Outlander this week, way too graphic. Looking forward to the next episode though!

The books are rather graphic, so I'm not surprised to hear some of that is translating to the screen. I'm going to have to actually get around to watching it soon - so many people I know are hooked!

As usual, I have watched many things this week :)

Besides the stuff still airing now (The Leftovers finale, The Graceland finale, The Haven Premiere, Legends)...
I watched a few episodes of the first season of The Fosters on Netflix.
I finished season five of Parks and Rec and started season 6.
I watched one episode of The Originals.
I checked out a couple of episodes of Brooklyn nine-nine.
and re-watched five episodes of season 2 Once Upon a Time.

I don't pay that much attention to wardrobe on tv. I notice the stuff on OUaT of course, since so much of it is over the top. I like it, but some of it is just crazy. I do like the clothes on OUaT a lot though.

I also tend to notice men wearing vests (love), suits with vests (love), but not suits w/o vests…oh and when men are in some shade of purple. That catches my eye and I really like it.

Maybe I pay more attention than I think ;)

I think I've been watching TV for way to many years to pick an all-timefavorite character. I love too many. Spike from BtVS is definitely at the top of the list though. Currently Hook from OUaT is a top favorite as well.

Same. I have types I like, and it sounds like you do, too! Spike and Hook have similar characteristics, no?

Yes, they do have a lot of similar characteristics. I realized this a while ago when it occurred to me that I hadn't been this obsessed with a character since Spike :)

Same old, same old. Fringe and Veronica Mars.

- What TV show do you think had the best costumes/wardrobe?
I've never watched costume dramas. I think The Americans does a good job with the eighties, especially given how hideous the fashions were back in the day. Plus all the wigs and disguises are great.

- Who is your all-time favorite TV character?

No question about it: Dana Scully. I wrote an essay explaining why.

The 80's!! I watched a couple episodes of The Americans and it was so 80's. They really did a good job with that.
