I really do love this show, BUT.

Season 2 has had 3 eps aired now, and they've been SO GOOD.

Seriously?

(We all thought it was awful.)

Now, if you're talking Silicon Valley ... now, there's a Season 2 we're eagerly looking forward to.

I know, I was so surprised. I wanted to add on "for no explicable reason" but didn't want to offend anyone who might have liked it. I watched a few episodes but couldn't keep doing that to myself and had to stop, even though I generally like Lee Pace.

I never checked out Silicon Valley, maybe I should have.

*nods* same here. We wanted to like H&CF, but for us the material Lee was given just never worked, and we gave up after ep 4 I think. I know they were trying for a sort of "Mad Men" vibe, but it just seemed too forced. (FWIW, we went and read the AV Club reviews later, and felt they put their finger square on the show's flaws.)

TBH, it's not really fair to compare H&CF to Silicon Valley, which (considering that the latter came from Mike Judge) was intended to have an entirely different, satirical/comic vibe. And I'll admit that there were times when we felt the humor/satire on SV pushed too hard and fell flat as well, but I guess we're more forgiving of that in a comedy. *g* Happily, Silicon Valley was also renewed. If you can catch it I definitely recommend a watch. I can't think of the last show that, more than once, literally made me laugh so hard I was in tears.
