I think she did about 11 months and then there was the trial and that was the final part of the deal I think and after she got let out.
In the book I don't think she had ever actually met the big dealer, so she really didn't have anything to lie about, or to help with...I read it after I watched the first season. It's good, though I think the show is better and more interesting in a lot of ways.
It also got me to read a couple of other books on women's lives in prison, which were also interesting.
