I didn't actually mean it to sound that I thought she didn't care. I think I meant to show that she knows this is going on and it has been for a while and she feels helpless to do anything about it. I probably should have gone into it more. I actually don't hate her at all. I feel really bad for her. I see her as a victim too.
I suspect she may have even tried to interfere when Logan was younger but it probably only made it worse. And yes, she could have left but I'm not sure how easy it would have been or if she would have been able to make enough people believe her. I think that he probably told her or she believed that if she did try to leave that he would fight for custody of Logan and may have even been able to pull it off with his money and fame.
Given what he gets away with later (more or less) I think he could have pulled it off. Made her seem crazy and kept Logan and continued to abuse him. I think maybe that's one of the reasons she kills herself because she feels/knows that she is helpless to do anything about any of this and that the only way out was death.
I probably should have worded it as she sits by instead of adding the "just" because I actually meant it more as an observation. Though I think I may have judged her more harshly the first time I watched this episode before I knew everything that came after and how bad Aaron really was.
