I'm talking to myself here, but I guess I'm used to that.
First off, maybe I've watched too many years decades of TV, but I am no longer able to buy this nonsense where cops or military people or doctors go rogue, as it were, and do things that would never in a million years be REMOTELY possible in real life.
I know it's only TV. I know it's all pretend. I know we must turn off our brains to some extent. But at some point you just have to say, "Oh, come on!" There's no way either Catherine or Steve would have been able to even get to Afghanistan on their own the way they did! You just cannot call in favors of the military like that. You just cannot hop on a plane and go chase people down in a foreign, hostile country where we are at war. And then to have that same military go and rescue Steve? Again, it would NEVER happen!
Then there was the usual Hollywood silliness that says that you can make friends with an entirely hostile culture just by something as simple as playing soccer. Come on, already!
Also, I'm not much into the fandom, but I could not avoid all the Catherine-hate that seemed to be present, along with hatred for the actress as well. I have no idea why they hated the actress. And I don't want to know. As to the character, I liked her. And that's rare for me with female characters in general. I hope she survives and returns at some point.
All in all, a tense episode, but really beyond my ability to find remotely realistic.
