I am the same way. I'm currently watching Criminal Minds, and regarding the episode plots themselves, I can take or leave it most of the time. But what I am enjoying is getting to know the characters in this world, which is why I keep watching. Good characters can make up for a lot of flaws in the show at large, imo.
