I read something last year when people were commenting on The Bear in the comedy category and it's something about shows that have shorter (e.g. 30-min) episodes are considered comedies, because in the past, that was always the case -- sitcoms had 30 minute episodes and dramas were 60-min. Obviously streaming services have changed that, but the Emmys haven't really kept up with the times.
