I haven't watched the episode yet, I'll be back later to add to the discussion.

I watched this and enjoyed it.
It was short of course, I was surprised by the swearing. I didn't mind it (I swear like crazy myself)

I thought it was funny and I'm looking forward to more episodes.

I need to talk about this. Where are the people who talk about this?

Perfect in every way. Great start to the season!

I was delighted the whole way through. I love seeing the cast as "themselves," and my favorite bit was the meeting with the network execs.

Definitely some cute moments, but [Spoiler:I could have done without the "two women competing for the same guy" plot. At least neither of them went home with him?] Definitely one of the best scenes was [Spoiler:Jess and Nick's convo in the bathroom stall. They're obviously still in love!]

I loved this episode so much! So glad the show is off to a great start!

The end where he danced for her made me inappropriately squee!

YES!! I honestly didn't expect this show to be SO GOOD!

Yeah, it was quite the surprise for me, too. I didn't know anything when I started watching - honestly, I just gave it a try because of the banner. I have a thing for images where a person in sleeping/unconscious/dead. *g*

The first episode convinced me to keep watching - I loved the premise of that story. And I loved Carter dealing with all the new people in her life, with their various expectations of her.

I really like storylines where the main character is out of their element in a strange environment and just expected to go on like nothing's wrong. It's always such an interesting journey for them. I'm also glad that [Spoiler:her dad is a lying liar who lies, because it shows that not every family is perfect, regardless of what things may seem. She had this relationship with Lori that was 100% fake but from her perspective was this perfect thing. Now her mom is suddenly the bad guy and she has no idea how to even start processing that.]

That's it, isn't it? [Spoiler:I mean, just like Taylor said, she wasn't allowed anything because oh god, what horrible thing could happen. Like it happened to her sister. Only in Carter's POV it was all so awesome and loving and such a great relationship, and you can't even call it Stockholm syndrome, because she just didn't know. To her, her birth parents are the kidnappers.

I have to admit, for a while I really rooted for Lori. That was before she started showing her psycho stalker side, and while the relationship between Carter and Elizabeth was so strained, and we saw David lying all the time.]

[Spoiler:Right?? I was TOTALLY rooting for Lori until she showed she was crazy mcstalkerpants. I'm kind of thinking that she had this affair with David, and she got jealous, or she was expecting David to leave Elizabeth and he was waffling, and then he wanted to get a book break so the two of them came up with the whole kidnapping plan. Only Lori wasn't supposed to REALLY disappear like she did. She was supposed to come back after a while, but because she IS crazy mccrazypants, she latched onto Carter because if she couldn't have David, she'd take his kid. ]

Oh, I hadn't thought of it like that yet. I like your theory - that would be a nice nasty twist in the story. [Spoiler:And while I didn't think she and David had an affair - well, he said he didn't know her before all that, but we've already established that he's a lying liar who lies - it's pretty obvious now that she's at least an erotomaniac stalker to David. Taking his picture of him sleeping in the nude like that.]

What did you think of the season finale? [Spoiler:I have to admit I liked it that Lori kidnapped Carter again. Better than Carter running off with her, better than already forcing a decision on Carter. Being drugged and taken back against her will definitely makes for the more interesting storyline in my opinion.] I'm really looking forward to season two.

[Spoiler:I definitely like that Lori took her. It keeps it interesting and we can't take Lori out of the picture yet.

I did NOT want Max and Taylor to break up, but Max is right when he says he needs to figure out what he's doing and he needs to move forward. According to an interview I read, Max was originally supposed to die. I would have been REALLY upset if that happened. I also love him on The Fosters. ]

OMG, am I glad they didn't take that road. That would have been the worst! He's so adorable and such a great friend.

[Spoiler:I think the Taylor/Max romance is beyond cute, and I really want them to get back together. But yeah, Max has to figure some things out first.]

What's fascinating to me is that my opinion of the characters is on a constant up and down. That's not how it usually goes for me when watching a show. All of the characters - sometimes I like them, sometimes I don't. They all do things that make me shake my head in dislike at them and their actions, and then again I do empathize and like them again. Grant is the exception. Poor Grant, I'm feeling mostly sorry for him, and I like him a lot.

I love Grant, he's an adorable armadillo. He knows he's in a shit situation and he just deals with it. He's way too mature for his age.

I feel the same way, and I like that, because it mirrors what teenagers go through, you know? We're on the ride with them.

True. I don't usually have patience for that, though. *g*
