Sleepy Hollow

So what'd you all think of this week's episode?

- No Katrina this week! Instead Abbie gets a prophetic dream to drive the plot. Along with a lot of guilt.
- What do you think of Captain Irving? How much does he know?
- Where do you think Jenny goes?
- Is it hitting the right level of creepiness for you?

yeah i agree. I think they both did the right thing, and it sucks that jenny was punished (also they were young, i'm surprised she was really treated so badly then, but its unclear if she was always in the hospital or whatever)

- What do you think of Captain Irving? How much does he know? I like Captain Irving. I think he knows more than he's letting on.
- Where do you think Jenny goes? I think she may be either looking for a way out or a way into something. Idk maybe patient records? That's my theory.
- Is it hitting the right level of creepiness for you? Hmmm I think it's creepy but not too creepy. Idk how to explain it. It's not exactly scary as I'd like it to be.

I guess I think she went there because that's where I would go if I had a confirmation that I had really seen something and I wasn't actually having delusions.

I think Irving knows a fair bit but not like you know everything haha.

:( nope! maybe next week. no John Cho either :(
BUT WE GOT JENNY AND JENNY IS THE BEST.

I think he knows more than he's letting on - the law inforcement doesn't seem likely just to...shut the case closed. SURELY THERE MUST BE PAPERWORK??

- Where do you think Jenny goes?

huntinggggggggggg

For me, the creepiness is the least of it -- I find myself watching (and rewatching, something I haven't done with a show for ages) for the character interaction more than the Monsters of the Week. I'm not a big horror fan so I'm okay with that. But this Sandman character was definitely intriguing/disturbing, even if dispatched very quickly. What was best about it, though, was Abbie's painful honesty. Everytime I'm ready to say "well, that's cheesy-but-enjoyable" they do something like that and do something so much better.

I feel like we don't know enough about their world yet to know where Jenny might go -- but an intriguing question. Is there some kind of Hellmouth-like nexus for all of this? Maybe back to those woods? Or to Katrina's grave? (I know, how would she know about that?) I'd kind of love Abbie and Ichabod to get to their underground office, and find Jenny hanging out in there.

Is Irving's name a clue, in which case he Knows Something More (especially since the Washington Irving story doesn't seem to exist in their world), or just a tip of the hat? He seems surprisingly ready to go along with things, just as long as they don't call public attention to it.

LOL - this show isn't exactly subtle, so yes I'm pretty sure Captain Irving has things up his sleeve. The fact that he's new to the squad, that he's conveniently gone to 'handle business' during the Sheriff's funeral, the offhanded way he's accepted Crane as a 'consultant' and how he just 'happened' to wander into the old library... And why did he feel it necessary to go on a call - isn't he the captain? Shouldn't he send people? Convenient. (I think that last one was more of a plot device to get him to the house and not really important, TBH)

Also, why is there a police captain AND a sheriff? Is that a thing? I could google I suppose.

IMO, the creepy is all in the visuals. The way the monster is just out of the corner of your eye. The reason the sandman was after Abbie wasn't nearly as interesting to me as the creepy way he'd flash on/off screen. Gives me goosebumps!! :)

Some of the plot/dialogue was a bit thin this week. Not that it still wasn't enjoyable!
